Suicide is such a cop-out. It's sad that a kid this young even is aware of what suicide is. But, I do think there are a lot of people who just too easily are ready to throw in the towel...rather than face life's challenges. This 16 year old girl committed suicide here in North Texas the other day by driving herself and her Miatta into a Dr. Pepper truck. Why? She had a 3 month old baby and the father, who previously married and settled in with her, was divorcing her. The baby was born in Jan and he left her in March. She had a lot going for her including going to school and wanting to get into cosmetology. She texted her friend and left a note in the mailbox. She had her whole life ahead of her. I just don't understand it. You gotta try, people. Ending it is too easy...a cop-out. It just makes me mad and sad. This kid didn't even get started. Dammit.
How can a kid this young know anything about suicide or even know how to do it? Heck at that age, I could barely wipe my own ass.
Seems like a pretty detailed plan for a six year old to have not been shown, taught or exposed to it in some other way. The saddest part is that it shouldn't be that hard to regulate a six year old's emotions or behavior. New toy? Candy? Video game? I guess when a six year old is threatening suicide you need to get on it.
Or that it would hurt their parents? Or to even be that detached from the instinct of self-preservation?
16 and 17 can easily be the two worst years in anyone's life. Everyone's kind of in transition; and if you don't have friends, freedom or see much of a future it can get pretty gut-wrenching.
I wonder if that kid accidently ingested their parent's recreational drugs. That's mighty strange for a 6 year old to do.
Just seen it on aol news man.....thought it was pretty ****ed up. Its not like this is any worse than a 7 year old being gang raped.....but didnt mean to offend anyone.
Sad. I agree with some that the parents should be looked at. I suppose they are for sure it was a suicide? My little sister is six years old and the other day, she was talking about suicide. So it's certainly a concept young kids can at least partially understand. And no she wasn't talking about committing suicide.....just talking about it. In the world today, youth grows up faster than ever. The things you can hear some people have experienced before they are even half way through their teens can be pretty insane. In addition...and I could be way off here...but I think this generation has the ability to be way more emotional. Which is good, but can be bad if you overreact.
Yeah, man. I'm not calling you out to be a d!ck, I'm trying to illustrate a point. I honestly don't think folks in THIS forum want to see this kind of ****... Do you? I mean, that's the point of D&D, right? The trolls and debate queens LOVE this kind of crap. So post this sick stuff there (anyone, not RoxSquad).
Kids this age often say things like "my parents will be sorry if I'm dead". I would bet that this kid was just trying to get attention and accidentally killed herself.
I don't get this type of mentality you're demonstrating. News stories are posted in this forum all the time with many of them just as disturbing as this one. If you don't like, don't click on it. As far as "trolls and debate queens" I'm not sure what to say. If you don't enjoy debating or having your ideas challenged that's fine with me but it seems like the majority of the time the ones putting down people who do like to debate do so because they have a difficult time articulating their own thoughts/beliefs and they are frustrated over that. I'm not sure if you're one of those people or not but I don't see how debating or having a serious discussion over something is ever something to be put down.
