No word on whether or not this math gap erosion will hurt Tillman Financially. But if there is a word, it won't be a good one.
I guess Darwin was right??... This is clear-cut evolution... or copy-catting, one or the other!! ....... ....... .......
I’m convinced I can close the gap between me and Daniel Craig, if I could just start talking with an English accent.
Makes sense. More teams are shooting more 3s, basically every team is playing faster than we are now and worse, they are doing it with better shooters. As the gap tightens in terms of # of 3s attempted, we get hurt by being so mediocre at them. To to mention teams just abusing the switching schemes with iso plays that we feasted on.

This is one of the best sports analysis pieces I've read in a long time. Threes, frees, and layups is only the current manifestation of Moreyism. The core principle of Moreyism is spotting a quantifiable advantage before other people do, and exploiting it till others catch up. We have to find and exploit the next frontier.
harden would do so much better if hed only substitute 4 of his eleven 3s per game with 4 midrange shots lost points from that change would be cca 1 point per game but added flexibility versatility and unpredictability would make a huge positive impact on the score across the boards on all elements of the game...
i thought about this last year. right after we lost i knew we couldn't just run it back because now EVERYONE knows how to beat the warriors. we figured it out, showed the whole league how to do it, proved it works... and cp3's hamstring went out. now the league is playing like us and its not just hurting us. its also hurting the warriors. sure they've had injuries, and they're still the favorites to win it all again, but the secret to beating them is out and they now may lose the occasional bad game which they haven't done is recent years. to win in the moreyball-nba you need 3 kinds of players: 1:1 scorers shooters switchable defenders to survive we either have to get the best of these types of players, or we have to buck the trend yet again. i think we are still so close to just being the best at moreyball. harden and capela in their prime are tailor made for it. paul, ego, tucker are perfect complements. our problem is those are the only 5 NBA players we have on the roster. if knight/chriss can be turned into 2-3 more rotation worthy players, all of whom fit at least 1 of the 3 aforementioned molds, then we may just be able to run it back after all.
I don’t know why more big men back in the 80s and 90s refused to shoot Sky Hooks, when Kareem proved how unstoppable it was.
Totally agree! We have to maintain one step ahead of the curve.... PURE Rockets fans ONLY!!! Spoiler: Maurie's top secret prototype in the works.... ....... ....... .......
Just curious. In the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, "till" is another word for cash register, according to Wikipedia. I've seen it used the same way here, of course. What I'm wondering is - are you misspelling it on purpose, or is it your OS device doing it? You can spell, so it isn't that. Inquiring minds want to know! (Please tell me that it's on purpose!)
The Suns just beat the Celtics last night, using their two best players; Booker and Ayton, featuring our PnR heavy offense with corner 3s and shots at the rim as their main scoring options. The majority of their midrange shots were being taken by those two aforementioned players. I'd like to see McHale's face now when he scoffs at our newly implemented offense after he was given das boot.
Is it statistically possible to shoot more than 100% of our shots in the restricted area or from 3? If science allows this then I think we should pursue this avenue of greater offense. If we could get to let’s say 120% of our shots coming from those areas then I think it would take our offense to unparalleled levels.
