Ok this sounds a bit crazy but hear me out. Who do you think would win out of this matchup if they were all in there primes?

    Hakeem
    Barkley
    Pippen
    Drexler
    Robert Horry

    Shaq
    Malone
    Kobe Bryant
    Gary Payton
    Robert Horry

Im going with team 1 because I think the defense is a bit better. But its really hard to say.

I wonder how robert would fair against himself...

i would go with team 1

    hakeem> shaq
    barkley> malone
    drexler< kobe
    pippen= payton

overall, our team seems to have better team play and better D.

I disagree. Malone had almost always eaten Barkley when they played each other.

Having Dream Pip. & Bark on the same team didnt do us any goood it was a bad idea, We'll have to see how it goes for the lakers but my vote goes for nether team. Nether is a championship team not player wise but role player wise. Just Robert Horry isnt good enuff

I disagree shawn those guys are not allstars. there some of the best players ever at there postitions. They could do other things beside score, meaning they didnt have to have the ball in there hands to be effective.

    Team 2 in a rout.

Shaq at his prime is not a better player than Hakeem, but he is a more effective player in any era. Shaq in his prime would actually just stuff and hurt hakeem as he tries to work the spin on him. It would be kind of like whan he tore up Mutumbo. Sorry, but its true.

Barkley vs Malone is a push. they both could hava good night and I personally like Barkley better, but cannot deny Malones scoring ability.

Kobe vs Pippen is a friken joke. Kobe by a mile and a few highlights.

Clyde would actually likely not match up with Payton. they would each go against horry and both would have big games.

On the Strength of Kobe over pippen and Shaq over Hakeem It is a laker win.

shaq in his prime cant keep up with hakeems quickness. and everyone already knows the dream shake couldnt be defended. hakeem on the defensive end easily gets some steals on shaq. at worst, this thing is a tie.

Are you sick? Shaq would not be able to keep up with Hakeem. But Hakeem for damn sure would not be bale to match Shaq's strength. Hakeem said it himself, Shaq is the most dominant ever. And like the other guy said, we had 3/5 of that lineup and it got us nowhere. However I watched the lakers last night and as much as I dont think what they have is fair, that train sure did run smoothly. They will be in the finals barring no injury's! Im taking bet's right now. Team 2 in a land-slide

This statement was true in the later part of Barkleys career but absolutely not in his earlier days. During the early part of Chucks career in Philly and again during the first couple of years in Phoenix Malone was Chucks biatch. Chuck rutinely out played Karla when he was in his prime.

You are underrating how quick Shaq is.

Moreover, LA would probably double team him often.

It probably is a tie all-around. Hakeem would have trouble staying out of foul trouble.

Maybe you missed it but the Hakeem and Shaq scenario was played out while Shaq was in his prime and Hakeem won. Mabye you don't remember the Rockets last championship. Your quote about Shaq stuffing and hurting Hakeem is just plane laughable. BTW, Dream was not even in his physical prime when he out played Shaq in that series. Sorry, but its true.

Since Hakeem did not have foul problems when he defeated Shaq 4 games to zip in the NBA championship then why do you think he would have a hard time staying out of foul trouble now?

Shaq lost to an aging Dream when Shaq was clearly in his prime.

I think team 2 would self-destruct. These guys would be in their Prima-donna primes as well. You think Shaq and Kobe are trouble, could you imagine big blowhard Malone ("give me the MVP, you take the trophy") and super cocky, barbell throwing Payton in the same locker room?? Applying the same thinking to team 1, the only problem might be Charles but

And Shaq may not have been in his prime in the '95 finals (only his 2nd year?), but he was damn close. Plus, Hakeem wasn't in his prime either. So, as crash was saying, Hakeem put Shaq when it mattered the most when they were both at the same "level" (just one was going up and the other down).

It's very close. Hakeem brings in defense. That's an edge. :)
