Man... Is anyone else pretty bummed about the All Star Break? With all this intensity, I can't look forward to the next day like I usually do in the regular season. Seems like there is going to be nothing to do.
yes, that also made me so sad, hope tmac have a good time and rest his broken knee,,, and win the next 10 games in a row!!
We still gets to see Scola tomorrow in the rookie game, and Yao sunday in the all-star game. So it's all good.
This is the worst part of the NBA season by far. I have no interest at all in the All-Star game and the stuff surrounding it. I view this period as a time for the players to take a well-deserved break while fans suffer during 5 days of sports boredom. It's been at least 5-6 years since I've watched more than 30 seconds of an All-Star game.
i like to watch the rookie-soph game...but thats about it the NBA has taken away all the excitement in the dunk contest...age rules, lower # of participants. ah i am just going to fire up the dvr and watch all the hardwood classic games i have and of course my rockets championship dvd
Pretend you are T-mac. Use the ASB to your advantage, let your eyes and throat heal from all that straining and screaming (respectively) at the TV, go see a doctor about that carpal tunnel from all those message board posts, let the assgroove on the couch begin to dissipate (ok who are we kidding that will never happen), talk to your family again--in short, pick up the remains of your tattered life and begin piecing them back together. I saw flowers all over Kroger's, I assume Valentine's day is soon, maybe you can pay attention to your significant other if you have one, or do like me and run. 10.5 miles in 81 minutes hooray! My best distance ever, gotta get up to 26.2 by May 4. But yeah I won't watch any of the all-star stuff either. What a waste of TV time. They should just let MTV handle the whole thing, not have a game, just a series of parties hosted by different players/celebrities.
for some reason i don't want Yao or Scola to go to new orleans...i rather have them rested...i think Yao needs a rest from basketball more than anyone else...
Now I can finally finish season 2 of Deadwood. There's always a Rockets/Longhorn game on, but now Deadwood gets my undivided attention...in between the tang.
Can you imagine if we had lost last night's game? We would have carried that punch in the gut for 5 days. I'm also worried about the break affecting the momentum. If I remember correctly in 04-05 we ended the first half of the season on a 8 game winning streak. And I think we we began the second half of the season on a losing streak. I hope the guys come back ready to play. But I doubt it. I know when I return to work from vacation, it usually takes me a couple of days to get back in the groove.
This year's a bit more painful for me because the race is so tight. Usually around this time, I just take a break from basketball because the Rockets position is fairly set - in the lottery or basically fighting for 1st round homecourt. Not too big of a deal. But this year, there's scoreboard watching every night. As for the festivities, if I happen to see an event while channel surfing, I'll watch a bit until I'm bored. But I don't go out of my way to watch them. I "watched" the game last year, which basically served as background noise as me a basketball-loving friend talked basketball while having a drink.
