Anyone else going to this show tonight?

Saw The Police last year at TC. Amazing concert. Probably won't be as good at the Woodlands, but what the hell....tickets are about half the price. I hope it's not 90 degrees tonight...

I have to go to a dinner tonight but, as luck would have it, it's at the Woodlands Marriott. We're going to sneak out early, change clothes and catch the show!

    EE-YOOOOOOO, EE-YOOOOOOOO, EE-YAAAAA-YOOOOO!!

BTW, I don't care if you don't like The Police.

Going to see them at Red Rocks in either June or July. I'm so excited.

Ima, I went to both shows at the Pepsi Center last year and ended up being seated directly behind Stewart Copeland for one of them (although in the nosebleeds) so I could watch him the entire night. It was amazing.

I can't wait until this evening.

Gotta pick up Grandma so she can watch the kids, take the HOV out to Cypress, change clotes, grab the wife, meet some friends for a patron shot or two then find a nice spot on the hill.

I'm going to the Dallas show tomorrow night. My first time to see The Police perform their classics. It should be a good time. This will be my 4th concert in less than a month with Van Halen, Rush, and Roger Waters being the other ones (those all occurred in a one week span). So, I'm pretty concerted out at this point. I've never been to four major concerts in less than a month. Good times, though.

I'm knee deep in envy. Hopefully you're sitting on the lawn. By far the best venue I have been to. I love lawn.

Yep, Stewie was on his game in a big way at TC last year, and I'm not just saying that because I was there. Hope for the same tonight.

Did you hear about John Rutsey? :(

Really? Concerts being at the Woodlands usually serves as a deterrent for me. Needless to say, I don't make it to many concerts.

Hey...ube_drummer2k. ibe_guitarist2k. wtf ibe ube drummer dead no longer in band 30+ years. :D

I did find a rock forum where some chick DJ out of Cleveland who discovered Rush in the long, long ago...and a former Rush band member...both left posts paying tribute to John. Kind of cool tidbit.

It was a good show. They really stripped down to just guitar, bass and drums for this show (and occasional bass pedal synths). Most of the songs were re-arranged to take advantage of the trio format. Kind of refreshing for a change...

I assume the show started at 7:30. What time did the Police actually go on stage?

I ask because we are timing our arrival to see the Police. Noone in my party cares about Elvis Costello (even though I have read he puts on a good set). My understanding is Elvis plays 50 minutes and there is a 30 minute break. This would put the Police on stage at about 8:50 pm. I also have read they only play 100 minutes...75 minutes followed by a 5 song encore for another approx. 25 minutes. I have read the time goes by quick and the show is pretty short but I don't really expect more than that given their playing older stuff with no newer material.

8:50 is probably about right...maybe a tad earlier.

The Police are among my favorite musical acts of all time...in my top 3. I've said my entire life that if I could see one show, it would have been them...because I never did before. So watching the 3 of them take the stage was a bit surreal for me...and the show ending was bittersweet...first time/last time. Really enjoyed it.

awesome show. it was pretty warm at first but was pretty nice once the sun got all the way down. They sounded great (elvis included).

side note: Air bull was sitting in our row. I had to get past him to go get drinks. At the moment i thought, "jesus, how am i going to get past this guys legs", then I thought "he looks familiar"...about 3 more steps it hit me; "AIR BULL!". He never stood up during the concert but i did see him rocking out.

you got a lame crew there, no offense.
i don't miss an opening band unless i have to or if i just flat out hate them.
    good luck.
