A friend of mine always has a themed costume pool party. Last year was Heavy Metal, the year before that was Hip-Hop. I think this year is Goth or Urban Cowboy, I can't remember. It should be fun no matter. So what are your plans?
meowgi, you are cordially invited to my annual rooftop 4th of july extavaganza. there's just the small matter of the commute to brooklyn.
Going to hang out on the beach in Corpus and partake of the local festivities there. Not leaving until Sunday, though. (no, I don't know anyone there, we're just getting out of this podunk town for a bit)
A whole lot of nothing. I let the girl drive to New Mexico to see the mother of her best friend that passed away last year because she's having health problems and other problems in dealing with her son's death. I would go with her, but I've got a lot of Swirve work to do. So, I'll do that, watch the Astros, maybe hang by the pool a bit, play with the mutt, partake in various fun items and quite possibly to the Astros game on Monday.
Sat - ingest some mind-altering substances at Little Arkansas.... "Day tripper" would be appropriate about now Sun - probably float one of the many beautiful rivers, then head to the fraternity house for a party with a RHCP coverband - red hot chili peckers.... lead singer is an old fraternity brother. :rock & :roll Mon - recover, hopefully hit up a blues festival in Austin, then back home to study.
Saturday I'm hanging in the pool with the family. Sunday we are having a party for my daughters 5th birthday and rolling that into a kid friendly party for adults into the night. Think of it as a huge kid slumber party with a bunch of drunk parents downstairs and out in the pool until 2 or 3 am. Oh and don't forget the hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks after the sun goes down. Monday recovery and more fireworks after dark. And over the course of the weekend i'm cooking a brisket, 4 racks of ribs, 4 chickens and 6 pounds of shrimp.
You know the fellow that owns the land? I go out there with friends sometimes usually music/ camping is involved to raise some money for his huge property taxes. When the Blanco is flowing good you can surf a standing wave in front of the dam (you need a boat anchor and some rope). The spring roaring out of the side of that hill is freaking awesome.
Home inprovement weekend! This morning I got on my roof and covered up my massive skylights with reflective insulation. Now that I'm actually able to sit in my living room during the day without getting sunburn, I'm going to go buy a couch and love seat. Tomorrow I will be pulling weeds in the backyard and laying down mulch in the flowerbeds. Too hot to do it today.
