Note to City of Houston: GET THE F***ING PARKED CARS OFF THE F***ING SHOULDERS OF THE FREEWAY!!! how can they not realize this is a road hazard. i had 2 cars pull out in front of me while i was going 60 mph!!! then, there's idiots dancing on the side where cars are whizzing by. there's kids everywhere. i wanted to make this thread last night, but was just too infuriated to type.
No reason why he shouldn't be going 60. The question should be "why is your car parked on the side of the road when it's fully functional"
umm, maybe b/c it was the highway and i'm allowed to? i started slowing down when i realized what was going on. i shouldn't have to. they shouldn't have been allowed to park on the shoulder of a freeway.
Totally agreed. Had to drive to the airport last night, the idiots were out in full force along the freeways/ramps. Little kids running around between the cars on the shoulder, cars parked right up on the white line b/t freeway & shoulder, cars pulling out onto the freeway in front of traffic. Saw the aftermath of one rear-end collision, I'm sure there were more.
If you saw kids, I don't care where you were driving, you should have slowed down. I'm not saying they are right to be there because they aren't, but you should have let off the gas until you passed through that area. That said, something should have been done about that.
I take it the girl's back? Off-topic, but as I checked your message yesterday, I had the DVD I was watching paused and I had the subtitles on. No ****, but the subtitle on the screen as I was listening to your message was "No worries", which is exactly what I was thinking. When we get together this week, I'll let you know why I was freaking out last week about it. On the car thing, that's ****ed up. It's amazing to me how braindead people can be and the fact that the authorities allow it.
I think there might be more accidents if people interested in the fireworks kept on driving and allowed themselves to be distracted by the show.
don't you think that happens even with all the parked cars? the cars on the shoulders only compound the problem. let's not forget, no one's even mentioned the drunk drivers.
i had to deal with this as well, coming back from hbu i got on 610 and near reliant stadium i almost hit two cars. the first was a guy in the the second to furthest left lane and was at less than 20mph trying to get to the sholder on the left and then just literally seconds later a guy in the furthest right lane decides to jump across all lanes to get to the left sholder. i seriously cant believe i dodged both.
Twice in the past 5 years, I have been caught in this shizznit by Astroworld on July 4th. I have avoided it like the plague ever since.
