Sure the game was out of hand, But you never give up till the fat lady sings.

Was it a good play call by Kubiak?
I'm hearing people saying that they should have run in the ball or go for a td etc.. etc..

What is your take on this?

it could have been a good call but the execution wasn't there.. bad pass by schaub but even if arian caught the ball he would have been stopped short of the first down.. the ravens were ready for almost everything kubiak ran.. should have just ran the ball straight up.

going for it was the correct call. the actual play call is only correct if it works.

what are you going to do drop back 4 steps have newton and harris' men, on you as soon receive the snap? everything had to be quick and short because of that and we could have gotten away with it if no pick six had been thrown.

Throwing the ball behind the line of scrimmage on a 4th and 2 was stupid.

This is a complete exaggeration and reflective of the paranoia that dictated Kubiak's awful gameplan. Here's one example:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>8 feeling imaginary pressure. If he waits a second longer he has Graham open up the field. Upshaw looking at Tate. <a href="http://t.co/VEVOX6lyai">pic.twitter.com/VEVOX6lyai</a></p>&mdash; PDS (@PatDStat) <a href="https://twitter.com/PatDStat/statuses/381983276065239040">September 23, 2013</a></blockquote>

Harris and Newton aren't good, no. But they're not 2002 Texans bad. There were opportunities out there. Just look at the last drive of the first half. The Texans got it on their own 20 with 45 seconds left and had no choice but to drop back and aggressively throw every down. The Ravens knew what was coming. And the Texans still picked up 50+ yards in barely over 30 seconds, leading to a Bullock field goal. Why? Because they took shots down the field and allowed playmakers to make plays. It's exactly what they didn't do for most of the game.

On that specific 4th and 2, what would I have done? For starters, throw past the marker. More specifically, let one of the talented young wideouts make a play. There was a 3rd and 15 late in the 3rd (a spot where the Ravens knew the Texans would have to throw and could "pin their ears back" against Harris/Newton) where Schaub stood in the pocket and threw a great pass to an open Martin. Keshawn just tried to one-hand it for some bizarre reason and dropped it.

The Ravens were sitting on the cute, short and safe routes all day, betting that Kubiak wouldn't have the guts to try and beat them over the top. On 4th and 2, Gary again played right into their hands. Right decision to go for it, of course, but a disgusting play.

this pic/tweet is a bit deceiving because it doesn't show the backside help... Graham was not open!

this play worked on 4th and 2 against the undefeated dolphins. Keenum to Jean...just sayin.
