Four dozen Nobel Prize-winning scientists have urged Americans to support the presidential candidacy of Democratic Senator John Kerry, accusing President George W. Bush of "compromising our future".

"We support John Kerry for President and urge you to join us," the 48 chemists, physicists and doctors wrote in a signed letter published on Kerry's campaign website.

The scientists say the science policies of Bush's Republican administration are "compromising our future," including by reducing funding for scientific research.

"Unwarranted restrictions on stem cell research" are hurting medical advances and new immigration rules have kept foreign scientists from travelling to the United States, they wrote.

"And by ignoring scientific consensus on critical issues such as global warming, (Bush's administration is) threatening the earth's future."

That and the pursuit of the truth makes these guys dangerous to America. Why if scientists had their way, we would have a government that didn't reword their studies, replace scientists when scientifically collected data was contrary to the desires of the politicians.

It's best if we allow Political leaders personal beliefs to trump science. Scientists are just bad news, and now that we know they support Kerry, we have no chance to oppose him.

In much more meaningful news, yesterday Nader named Camello as his running mate, thereby significantly strengthening his chances of getting on ballots by way of the Green Party.

    GOOD DAY

I, Dr. Gori, have not endorsed Nader. I am voting for Dr. Bush Cheney, for his pollution will feed my monsters, eventually destroying mankind and Spectreman once and for all!

thats good stuff...i guess that means they are smarter than me since they won nobel prizes. if they dont like bush because of his stem cell research opposition, which i think is stupid on bush's part, and global warming stance then so be it. if i get 48 successful people to back bush is that news?

i cant say bush has lived up to my expections at all, but kerry is the biggest assclown in the world. assclown is really the best word to describe him. 48 nobel prize winners support assclown.

Generally, if a person has won a Nobel in science, it's a pretty good indication that they are smarter than you are.

That sure is an intelligent, reasoned argument.

robbie can you give a reason why Kerry is an assclown? Not something you read off the RNC website, but your own opinion. What has he done to deserve that description from you?

Well, I'll agree and expand. Kerry is an assclown because:
    1. He has voted uncountable times to raise taxes.
    2. He is no friend of our military, having been a dove his entire career in favor of the nuclear freeze and unilateral decreasing of our conventional forces during the Cold War. He may say he supports a broad war on terror and claim he can do better than Bush, but I'm going with history and in the case of liberals, that history is not too kind.
    3. He is no friend of veterans, having told a pack of lies to the U.S. Congress after Vietnam. He slandered U.S. servicemen and did more to hurt our military's efforts than anyone.
    4. He is a male gold-digger, marrying two uber-rich women.
    5. He couldn't hold a firm position on an issue if his life depended on it.
    6. If you think we are spending far too much of my tax dollars under Bush (I do), wait until you read all of the ways he has to redistribute wealth from the producers to the non-producers. Health care plans, education. This man never met a domestic spending plan he did not like!
    7. Lastly and this is a personal thing, but I think he comes off as a pompous, arrogant, blue-blood jackass. Robbie, just expound next time on WHY you think the guy is an assclown. He's given us plenty of reasons to call him that for sure.

Yeah, I'll go with the Nobel Prize folks. They are smarter than me.

Also, it is unprecedented for that many scientists with egos of that size to all agree on anything. There are only a small handful of things that 48 major scientists have ever agreed on without dissent. Pretty much this list would look like this:

    (1) Earth is round.
    (2) Earth moves around sun.
    (3) Space is big.
    (4) DNA codes for inherited traits.
    (5) CO2 contributes to a net warming effect on the atmosphere.
    (6) Bush is a complete assclown. ... and, and... his pants fell down!

    VICTORY FOR SCIENCE.

Wow, I kind of like this technique. The pants thing is such a winner.

    FYI, this:

    is now mine.

Sorry available blonde 22 year old photojournalism student from California in town for the summer and who I met last weekend and doesn't know a soul in town, I've got badly dubbed 70's japanese sci fi to watch -- the fate of the planet hangs in the balance.

Oh, and Gori, I know your game, you endorsed Nader as a spoiler bid to get BushCheney back into the office -- you are so predictable since you jumped off that cliff and exploded.

No! No body. Know when I explode next! And jump again! You have not seen the thread that you have not seen, have you?! In this forum. People discuss "Gori Won't Give Up!" Everyone knows true!

Actually, congrats on your purchase. I am ashamed to admit I have considered it now. But anyway, you should invite the 22-yr-old to your pad to take in some Spectreman. Nothing will make her appreciate some alone time more than watching a few episodes.
