I don't know if anyone saw the Spurs vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv game yesterday at 9:00 am on NBA TV. I caught most of it and I was pretty impressed with the #44 pick Lior Elyahu kid, he looks like another descent international find by the rockets. He is definetely a few years away from playing in the NBA, as his body needs to fill out, but this kid can score the ball from both inside and out. You can tell in a few years he is a potential 1st round draft pick for sure. He is not a project like Badaine ie.{Badman}, Elyahu has some skills. The Spurs were also playing with their regular rotation and with alot intensity as well.

What is his game like? Can he handle the ball some? Is his shot fluid? He's supposed to be an excellent athlete....how did it look against NBA level athletes?

He has a very good touch with the basketball and looks like he has a knack for scoring ie. (half hooks and descent face up game) . He is a descent athlete and pretty long. His body needs some maturing though ie. strength. Elyahu going 5-7fg against a very good Spurs defense is enough said, the Spurs were contesting everything on defense, infact the the Spurs look kind of scary this early in the season. It looks like Maccabi Tel Aviv could beat there fair share of NBA teams on any given night.

He's on NBA TV right now. He's got 17 points and is looking real good.

It's encouraging to see him doing a good job. It gives me hope for the future. One day he might make it to the NBA as a productive player.

Those are great numbers. Didn't CSKA Moscow beat the Clippers by like 20pts or so the other day. If I'm not mistaken, V-Spans teammate from the Greek National team (maybe spelled Papudulus) plays for the Moscow team. He's playing against top level competition.

I believe that Trajan Langdon (the old Dukie) was the starting SG for CSKA.

Anybody got a box score for Maccabi vs. the Cavs the other day? All the stats I can find are only for the Cavs players.

    Best I can do: http://www.chroniclet.com/Daily Pages/101806sport8.html
Eliyahu played only 10 minutes, no points, 8 boards. It's nice to see the boards, but it's just garbage time I assume.
