401K Investments (Which one?)

    This is my very first 401K form. Just wanted to see what advice the finance gurus had

    Pick the one closet to your retirement date and you are good.

    I second this. Who is your 401k with?

    If you pick the one with the target for your retirement date, they automatically adjust the aggressiveness for your situation.

    For example, if you're retiring 2045, they'll be more aggressive now and try to make you more money. As time goes by they switch it, automatically, to more conservative investment decisions.

    My 401k is up around 27%.

    Its all relative. I've only been in them for a couple of years, and of course lost a ton with the recession. They have bounced back some though. They have both followed the market. I have no plans on switching, but I'm an accountant, not a financial advisor. They were recommended to me by my guy at Edward Jones, and my friend at LPL thinks they are good funds as well.
