Granted we gave away the Lakers game at the end, but we are 2 games over 500 vs being 3-3 last year. That's with us not putting together solid consistent games too, so can we give this team a few more games before everyone goes Nostradamus and predicts this teams imminent doom?

It was a bear hug pick on lin and a NFL lineman block on bev, so that play was complete BS that blake was wide open with out a foul call. Last play of the game blah blah, but if bev and lin flopped or put some hollywood into that play they would have got the call easy.

Howards FT's...this guy should be making them at a higher %. He is on target and has good form. IMO his shooting coach should say screw the form and go all wrist on that shot. His got the motion and correct line...just the ball comes off hard with no chance...my guess is not enough ball rotation. If asik can fix his FT so can howard

4-2 is OK. The way we're playing is not.

I'm happy with 4-2, but the only possible playoff team they have beaten has been Dallas, and that is a stretch. Only played 1 quality team and they got rolled by them. Saturday will be another good gauge as to where this team is at.

4 - 2 would be fine if we lost the 2nd game against a top team, or if we made very few mistakes, but everything was just clicking so well for the other side that there was no way we could have stopped them.

This Lakers game was just god awful in that we had so many advantages on our side (better talent, no Kobe, home court, referees on our side, etc.), but we decided to hand them the game on a silver platter in the first half. Especially with all the open 3s, pathetic defending and heroball modes.

Do you really want to lose a game this way?

Not to mention that team chemistry looks like it might have a problem.

This 2nd loss was / is NOT OK.

No excuse in losing to a weak team like the Lakers.
Falling behind from the beginning and lack of consistency on defence are bad signs.
PG situation should have clear from the beginning of the season. Bev is better off the bench.

4-2 is nice until you realize that you undoubtably should be 5-1 or maybe even 6-0 if the team cared even an ounce about defense. Then it just looks completely average and disappointing.

It's not really about the win-loss record and I don't mind losing to a lottery team like the Lakers. It happens to all contenders. But the way we lost to a contender (Clippers) concerned me. If you want any indication about this team, pay close attention to how we play the top teams. Last season, I believe we were like 2-9 vs final fours.

I already said it before, our offense is 'gimmick.' We simply don't have a go to shot by any one of our players, a shot that opposition is difficult to defend against. Without it, Rockets will not go far, and don't expect Harden will shine like a true superstar in the post season.

I really was hoping Harden would develop a reliable mid-range pullup, but looks like this is NOT the year. His game would be so much lethal with a stop-on-a-dime pullup. All top scorers have those shots in their arsenals.

My prediction for the rest of the season:
    1. We are awful at close games.
    2. We will have losing record vs top contenders.
    3. Playoff disappointment.

It is not ok, if we are supposed to be 5-1.

Same things happen to this team like in past years. Get new players, need time to adjust playing with new players, chemistry will take time to developed, and not enough practice time. I believe that covers it.

two very flawed stars in Howard and Harden, no way Rox wins a championship with them as the centerpiece.

Very difficult to manage in game-end situation, and difficult to win in playoffs.

You can see the end of this rox team 5 years from today.

I have watched so many NBA games over the years. When playoff comes, Howard is just not reliable at game end. Harden is clearly flawed, there is a reason he is the 6th man off the bench for OKC.

Well, at least with Howard and Harden, Rox will be there when playoff comes, just enjoy it and don't hope for the championship.

The offense looks stagnant; everything looks like a struggle. The defense is unreliable with a lot of confusion. That's what I'm more worried about than the record.

same excuses the texans fans were making last year.

oh they won 12 games. but got blasted by any decent team they played.

this team will win maybe 50-55 games in the regular season off talent alone but will get exposed in the playoffs.

as people said it's not about losing but how they lost.

    they suck at defense
they have no half court offense
they turn the ball over too much
dwight is a liability late in games
they have a coach who gets outcoached by mike ****ing d'antoni

that's a recipe for disaster in the playoffs

No star is perfect. They all have flaws. Howard and Harden are talented enough, but the pieces and system have to fit. Please remember that the roster isn't finished, and more changes to the starting lineup are just around the corner.
