The Celtics broadcast showed we have the 4th best offense - backed by advanced stats on NBA.com - and are first in 3pt shooting percentage as a team with over 40% since january. Maybe it was the last 10 games, since this is inaccurate as we are 3rd at 39% which is still impressive as we were 29th all season. We were never going to be that bad and we’re likely not going to say this high, but still, it’s good to see we actually do have good shooters who are finally making them. Amazing how much better your offense looks and how many more assists you have as a team - though still 29th in January oddly enough - when 3pt shots fall. We’re #1 in steals too in January too with 10.9 per game! One more interesting stat: 4th best defense all year, 22nd in January and 9th best offense all year and 4th best in January. So crazy we’re still winning as much as we are with our defense slipping somehow. Jabari has something to do with it and we’re relying more on our offense. Dillon Brooks is our best 3pt shooter still at 38% so not sure he will be going to the bench anytime soon. I think Amen will and his minutes will just increase depending on how well Jabari is playing when he comes back, take minutes from Brooks when he’s off again as well as Green. FVV might see a dip too, but yeah, Brooks is our most consistent shooter so makes sense for him to remain a starter.
It's almost as though we're shooting better with the exact same parts but different roles and style. Overnight, Jalen Green became arguably the deadliest transition player in the NBA. At the moment, for players who score more than 4 points in transition (about half the population), Jalen Green is the 2nd best transition player in the NBA in PPP. Tied with Amen for 3rd in the NBA in EFG%. This "moved the needle" I'm pretty sure lol.
Pretty good OP......but consider Amen as the main reason the 3-pt shot has opened up. Many believe he has unlocked the Jalen Green - Sengun combo
