Has a player ever won the triple crown and his team miss the playoffs?

I can't believe yordan has as many RBIs on this crapshoot of a lineup .

This is the biggest gap he's had in each category all season.

Batting average is my biggest concern, it's all up to Yandy Diaz to exit stage left as all other batters are below .300 currently.

 

My biggest concern is RBI, especially if they sell off the few guys that actually get on base for him.
(Not saying thats a bad idea)

 

Tri Crown might be worth missing the postseason. MVP will be included. Hopefully a few young guys show some promise.

OPS+ up to 198

Offensive win percentage up to 84% … next closest in all of baseball is 76%.

 

It's sad that Yordan is having this type of season when we suck overall.....kind of hard to be MVP when your team is this bad

 

I just want everyone to remember that when Trout stole the MVP from Bregman in 2019, the Angels were 72-90.

So if things go really south for this team the rest of the way, these goddam voters better have that same energy.

 

I don't really care about this season and neither should any of you, but all my energy is in this MVP going to Yordan. That will be satisfaction enough for a lost season.

Looking way down the line, he'll need this MVP to even have a chance to get into the Hall of Fame. No doubt about that.

Luckily Judge is gonna be out long enough to disqualify him because the writers really wanted to wank off to giving him another MVP.

 

So how many times has a triple crown winner actually led the entire majors in all 3 categories you ask?:

Rarified air indeed if he pulled that off. He's only 1 RBI behind (Jordan), tied in HRs (Schwarber) and is .011 points behind in batting avg (Otto Lopez).

 

The odds of him doing it are extremely low even with the lead this late in the season.
