I don't see a FA or viable trade route to obtaining a quality QB. For some reason, teams are reluctant to trade high-quality QB's.

Maybe there is a hidden QB gem in the draft, but should we chance it instead of using a pick on a quality OL, RB, WR, etc.?

Davis Mills has limited capabilities. Can we start him? Of course. We might have to.

My vote is to get a new OC, a new QB coach, and anyone else that can help develop CJ. Let's load up on the OL and let's get CJ some young weapons. Let's hope that the return of Tank Dell and Brevin Jordan will help. If CJ is garbage after all that then we move on. That's my vote.

Unless you can trade for Lamar or Burrow(pipe dream) I say you give CJ one more season. If he flames out again then you move on.

Replace GM with someone more dedicated to Texans than personal Patriots connections. No way this offense was best suited for CJ. It was clear when Caley was hired and it is certainly clear now. Replace the entire offensive staff. Hire a new OC that is seasoned and runs a system more suited for CJ’s physical gifts and aptitude. Mike McCarthy, Doug Peterson, Frank Reich, Jason Garrett, someone who can connect with CJ and be the head coach of the offense. Find some explosive weapons, particularly at RB and WR. Remake the OL again with capable players, doesn’t have to be elite, just solid across the board.

This is pretty much the answer. Getting someone terrible (mills, flacco, rodgers, etc.) would only be smart if the plan is to tank for the 1st pick and draft a qb.

Evaluate coaching staff for areas of improvement.

Draft a qb in 2nd or 3rd round.

Best case it's Davis Mill's replacement in a year, worst case it's Stroud's.

The team has perhaps wasted the best chance ever to go to the SB. Why waste another?

To me, after CJ's first season, everything changed. Slowick tried to turn him into something he wasn't, which was a game manager.....throwing shorter routes.

His first yr, he had Nico, Tank and Noah Brown....Speed! WRs that could get deep.

I keep saying and will continue to say, CJ wants to make PLAYS, he is not Brady, the NE system does not fit him. Until Caserio gets past the NE offensive system, we will continue to see what we saw last week

Get a GM that will invest in the OL and run game. If you keep Caley, get a QB coach who has a history of developing or saving QBs. No more first year guys trying to learn on the fly.

I think the biggest difference from year 1 to 2 was the OL. Stroud was getting Carr’d forcing Slowik to change things up.

Same thing we saw earlier in the season and then the playoffs, Stroud doesn’t do well under pressure and we don’t have the personnel to take any off of him.

Serious question - would you consider Case a 1st year QB coach if he here brought back here?

I think he would do it and it would solidify him as a true QB whisperer (CJ rookie season, Caleb, & rejuvenated Coleridge who leads his team to their 1st SB win). Plus Case gets a statute at TDECU stadium that the McNairs pay for as Htown approves the $$$ for a new Texans stadium.

Draft the best quarterback you can in the third round And maybe you’ll get lucky. Coach up CJ. Hope some teams with decent quarterbacks crash and burn next season and look for a trade to begin a rebuild

Big Keenum fan but gotta say no if someone with experience/success is available. But maybe I'd just be happy if they move on from Jerrod Johnson.

Tanking is why you would play Stroud.

Also tanking is stupid for this team. We just went 12-5 with the worst qb in the league starting 14 games.

a real QB gets us to the SB.

Everyone calling out Josh Allen and maybe deservedly so but we win the SB pretty easily with Allen as our QB.

I say just get a slightly above average, game managing QB (perhaps that could be mills) and run it back.

Thing is, CJ isn’t going anywhere. The players love him for some reason. Even after his meltdown, there’s been no beef.

With that said, they’re gonna have to invest heavily in the offense this offseason. There’s no other QB option out there.

Our D will be top-3 in the league but you want to tank and start over?

No. I don’t. That’s why I don’t want to play Stroud. Playing Stroud would be like tanking. We have a better qb on the roster already but the Texans should see whats available and bring someone in. Stroud is not a viable option if the texans want to advance to the SB.

I dont think that we should use a high pick on a QB. I think we should use it on a player that can immediately help our offense in 26'. Besides, if Stroud is awful again the 27' draft appears to be deeper at QB and then we can replace him.

You think if cj starts again we go 2-15 or 3-14? I think wilson can definitely get us to like 6-11 but the defense is probably too good to go below that.
