Barring a trade, CJ Stroud will be our QB. The good news is next year will be his last barring a miraculous turnaround.

Is there any reason to keep QB coach Jerrod Johnson around for a 4th season? Does he share in CJ's apparent lack of Development?

I dare say that we desperately need a new QB coach who might be able to salvage CJ and our 26' season.

We may also need a general manager who believes in offensive line play. Our OL has been trash for 3 seasons. Do we need a new coach at that position too?

How was CJ phenomenal as a rookie but now trash? Is it possible that a GOOD QB coach can salvage him? I don't know.

Same thing happened to Vince Young, RG3, Tua, and Jayden Daniels. Immaculate rookie years, then a combo of never recovering from either a big knee injury or a bunch of concussions, and not progressing after defenses figure out their tendencies in year 1.

The other thing they all have in common is that NONE OF THEM EVER RECOVERED. You throw away damaged goods.

    No bro
This is James Harden all over again
Except Worse! Because atleast James Harden is actually a legit all time great during regular season.
    CJ is not even that.

I notice Houston fans have a tendency to have blind optimism even when there has been multiple games and evidence showing the player is just not that guy.

and that’s fine, beause being “the guy” doesn’t come around often which is why those types are legendary. See Jordan, Hakeem, Kareem, Kobe, LeBron, Steph, Brady, JJ Watt, Jerry rice, Elway, Mahommes etc.

With all that being said, it’s CLEAR that CJ is not that guy and in fact he’s not even a good player at his position in his current generation
So you move on. It’s better to quickly access that and move on as quick as possible so you don’t waste time or money or get too invested where now you don’t want to let go.
The quicker you do that and realize that, the more successful and the happier your life will be.

This game proved we need to move on. He may be better somewhere, but sometime it’s best to move on because it doesn’t work for YOUR situation.
See Stafford Daniel Jones, Barkley etc.

Any talk about anything else like new OC, O-Line or more weapons is just wasting time.
Ofcourse that is important but without a decent or better QB, they can only be so impactful.

A QB is almost like a CEO of a company. If they are bad or make bad decisions then it doesn’t matter how good of employees you have, how great of an idea or product you have. How many customers you have. You can still fail if the CEO is too bad and makes too many mistakes.

I made this long ass response because it’s basically nothing else to say if we keep Stroud next season.

Who is more likely to win a SB, CJ Stroud or Justin Herbert?

You want to fix CJ, get a VETERAN OC. Mike McDaniel.

Zero is not greater than Zero.

Also another classic of a rookie phenom that is an anchor on his team.

I definitely believe that we need a new QB coach, regardless of whether CJ is on our team next year.

That doesn't fix "SCARED". CJ sees ghosts and things when they are not there. I don't trust CJ with a running game and the best oline in the league.

No one outside of Mendoza in this draft. And we won’t have a shot at him

Having TE Brevin Jordan back next year will be big. We can certainly hope that Tank Dell will return to his former glory. I think it's possible that part of CJ'S problem has been a lack of open receivers this season.

CJ is not the first QB to see ghosts. Baker Mayfield spends half a season with McViegh and then goes to Liam Coen and it changes him. Darnold goes to O'Connell in Minnesota, and he is a different QB.
