I been trying to be patient and I blamed the O-Line & Nick Carley for the horrible offense and spared CJ Stroud. But now it’s CLEAR AS DAY CJ IS JUST AS MUCH OF THE PROBLEM AS ANYONE ELSE. I think he might be shook & kiddish from all the pressure and bad O-Line play, just like what happened to David Carr. Some of these broken plays, he should run to try to make something happen and he will stay in the pocket and either get sacked or throw a bad pass or have a turnover. Even if he plays better and Texans win. I don’t have faith in this offense. Texans are winning DESPITE CJ Stroud and the offense. Also, Collins is always hurt. if they give CJ the max next season (which they probably will) They are screwed. They can’t win a superbowl that way.
Bro I really HOPE Texans know they have the bargaining power after tonight, but something tells me they’ll still view him as an elite QB
Not only do I not pay him… Offer him & picks to Cincy for Burrow. They can have the Ohio State kid. Offer him to Vegas, Jets, Cardinals, Browns, Saints, Dolphins, Falcons, Vikings, Panthers, Steelers. See if you can get a Deshaun package (or two firsts) Pay the guys that got you here (Anderson, Bullock, Lassiter, Togiai…Sting, Hunter, Pitre got extended already) Anyways, keep making excuses & hanging onto the guy from a rookie season that you haven’t seen since.
The score is now 30-6 This defense single handily won us the game. Stroud..man oh man… 4-5 fumbles? 2 of em lost. All in a 1 point game. Int in the red zone HORRIBLE
I’m not ready to turn on him yet, he’s still young enough. Patience is a virtue. Yes he committed costly turnovers, but didn’t Peyton? Brady? Look he was moving the offense fine. I’m pretty sure he’s going to fix the fumble mistakes by next week. You guys need to chill
Don't know where the fumbles/snap issues came from. He hadn't fumbled all season. He threw the ball fine (sans the INT). I am curious what he says in his presser.
Team game. Get over your hateful emotions right now. CJ is the starting QB of the team that won the game. He outplayed Aaron rodgers and that 3rd and long he stepped into to drive us into that FG to take a 10-6 lead when the game was in the balance was YUGE. Go home if you’re just going to be a bish.
He really didn’t throw well. He had a few throws that had good results. He was very fidgety in the pocket, he’s not very good throwing on the run unless it’s designed rollouts where he can set his feet. Too many balls just having bad placement. The fumbles were whatever, give him a pass because he hasn’t done that. But the ball placement, accuracy and and antsy pocket behavior is a recurring theme
If we can get him for less than the max, I'd be thrilled. It's just not the market. The market says he'll likely get the max, unfortunately. I'm not sure if he's worth it, and he's probably not, but all I can say is that we're on the best 3 year run in franchise history with him at quarterback. Yes, I know it's a lot of great defense, but still. I think CJs absolute value will be determined by this playoff run, when it comes down to it.
Some of his accuracy is believing in his line. Really, the only way to fix that is time. He keeps playing games where he doesn't have run for his life....he will be fine. Another year in this offense will probably fix that too.
Fair enough, but if he chokes next week and we lose, at that point it’s inexcusable. I don’t even know how his agent could have a straight face even asking the Texans for the max.
I can see that, even agree with time. But he was afraid of ghosts out there. Wasn’t a ton of pressure and he ran into pressure.
Unfortunately yes if he wants max This is like the Jeremy Lin run that got him paid and then he disappeared into obscurity
