Poor Whitcomb. If he can't get into this game while Rodgers is still getting playing time, not sure why the Astros just don't trade him at this point for some lotto ticket, or relief pitcher. He's showed he doesn't have much to do in AAA, and if he isn't going to play a part for the major league team, give him a shot somewhere else. And before anyone says I said something I didn't say, Whitcomb/Rodgers isn't the difference between losing or winning, but I think he has deserved some run somewhere, and not AAA.
With the late-night travel, I was expecting Salazar and anyone else who didn't start yesterday to start today so the lineup isn't as bad as it could have been.
In addition, Chandler Rome reported that the Astros are limiting his reps due to his back issues. I guess they don't want him to play more than 4 games per week, which sucks. But on this team, there is no need to play him vs a LHSP.
