There are two teams that concern me for UH in the Midwest: Tennessee and Georgia. They can't afford to have off games against either of those two teams. Tennessee is a legit threat to win the whole thing. Overall, I think UH has a good chance to reach the Final Four. UF is the best team in college basketball. Nobody can beat them if they bring their "A" game. They have the benefit of being the overall #1 seed by having weakfish #2-3-4 seeds in their region. Pencil them in from the West. I don't have any feeling about who will win the South other than it won't be Auburn. They looked a little gassed finishing the season. They are very dependent on Johni Broome. I predict he'll have an off game and they won't reach the FF. In the East, unfortunately, I'll take Duke. Missing Cooper Flagg for a couple games in the ACC tournament could end up helping them win the whole thing because it forced other guys to step up. Obviously Flagg must return completely healthy. UF is my pick to win it all. Watching them devour a very strong Alabama team in the SEC semifinal was the final straw for me.
The top 4 seeds are Auburn, Duke, UH and Florida in that order. UF is definitely playing the best of anyone in the country heading into the tourney though.
# of Conference representatives SEC- 12 Big10- 8 ACC- 5 Big12- 7 Big east- 5 American- 1 North texas, SMU and Villanova got screwed badly. yes, I know that the American usually only gets 1 team in but 3 or 4 of those teams are better than texas or oklahoma. UT was 12th in the SEC and OU finished 11th. Money rules everything. what’s pretty frustrating is that these players at UT and OU are now paid very well to do their jobs. They did not do their jobs and still get to go to the tourney. The pac 12 dissolving ****ed **** up too.
After the first round, lots of parity... But, the National Champion is likely coming from an elite 6...Duke, UH, and the four SEC teams. I like the chalk.
I just filled in the big laminated poster I made a couple years ago. I just use dry erase markers and color coat the #1 teams in red, #2 teams in blue, and #3 teams in green so they stand out. Go Coogs!
Story of the Rodney Terry era. He's exactly the same mediocre coach that he was at UTEP and Fresno State. Hiring him after the Elite Eight run was correct, but the cracks appeared in the façade almost immediately. Losing five-star recruits to the G-League and Australia is inexcusable in the NIL era. His in-game coaching showed a total lack of offensive strategy or adjustments. I don't know who Texas will go after now (the pressures are not the same as football so it might be a promising young coach instead of a "home run" big name which, by the way, we're 0-2 on recently), but I'm looking forward to a new era.
