You talking about Jeannie Buss? Patrick Fertitta? Tons of NBA coaching & front office positions?

Is it just today all of these hundreds of people were hired in to the league?

Aside from the shift to hiring smart, analytically minded front office folks, Nepotism is, has been, and will remain the largest driving force in front office personnel in the Association. And it's not just the NBA lol.

    In parting:

    Daniel Calhou "CAL" McNAIR.
    Vice Chairman, Houston Texas, 2008
Chief Operating Officer, Houston Texans, 2012
    Chairman, Houston Texans, 2018
Chief Executive Officer, Houston Texans, 2019 to present.

    I rest my case.

I take your point, but theoretically the NBA should be a pure meritocracy: either you can hoop or you can’t, and Bronny can’t.

Bro I 100% agree. But it should be that way in my field also which is competitive high finance among hedge funds and private equity type platforms. Same **** here. And I won't feel the least guilty when my son interns next year.

Lots of avenues in life should be this way. If your point is, there's 0% chance Bronny the player gets a guaranteed multi-yr deal if his dad isn't LeBron - I 100% agree.

But this is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from the prototype case. And if the utilization, minutes-played, of bench sports 13-15 wasn't basically 0 across the entire League this would be worse. If he was actually taking NBA minutes away from someone, that would be worse. He's not.

As a player, he’s probably on the same level as Zoran Dragic or Eron Gordon. But, he gets a 4 year contract.

Thanasis is now the #2 imposter on an actual NBA roster.

Thanasis was not drafted by the Bucks and he actually did something significant outside of the NBA. After failing to stick in the NBA and before joining the Bucks, he played well in Spain and Greece. That doesn't mean he would be in the NBA if his last name wasn't Antetokounmpo, but at least he put in some work before joining the Bucks. The famous lowlights make it seem like he's trash, but his time with the Bucks, which is now over, BTW, was somewhat justified.

He spent the last FIVE seasons on the bucks roster, if he had a different last name he would have spent 0 of them on an nba roster

Bronny should not be in the NBA. He is only in because his dad. He said he wants to build his own legacy. That will be him out of the league in 3 years. He will then go play overseas and become a decent Euro/Asian league player and will attempt at a come back in 6 years because he was better then 85% of those leagues. Only to get a 10 day contract offer to go back to Cleveland only to be waived. He then will become an executive of LeBron's corporation and make more money from his daddy then ever playing basketball.

Nepotism is real all over the world and we should all mock and make fun of those who are getting gifted opportunities with little to no work.

I agree. But he actually did something before joining the Bucks and he wasn't drafted by his brother.

I'd rather just be LeBron's lazy son that LeBron's son who has to work out all the time.

I didn't want to read up on this dude, but... he wasn't ready or good enough after being drafted so he went back to Europe. Developed and played well enough to be recognized with the Most Spectacular Player award in Spain and won two championships in Greece. That's two professional leagues he played in and someone saw something in him to draft him at a higher pick than Bronny.

In this dumb argument over which nepotism is worse, it's LeBron's. Giannis was the MVP of the league and 24 at the time, BTW, so his cachet wasn't as reputation and media driven.

We'll see, so far Thanasis has been on a roster for 5 years that he didn't deserve and made 10 mil that he didnt deserve. It's fair to say the 30k he made with the knicks is legit though, just the bucks money isn't. We'll see how long bronny is on a roster, but he still hasn't reached thanasis level nepotism.
