With a franchise QB & DE on rookie contracts the Texans are primed to build a contender. They look to have a ton of space to go shopping in free agency, but is that truly the case? After the must re-signs, what picture do you all see for free agency? Who do they re-sign, who gets let go, and who are your free agent targets in the off-season? Lot of tea leaf reading that has to go into this one folks, what you got?

How about waiting for the season to play out?

Because this is a fan site and there is a week between games that could be filled with trivial stuff like this? IDK, nobody will be more excited than me if the Texans pull off a miracle run to the suberbowl. But, even if they do, it will have been just that: a miracle. Caserio and co have the opportunity to build a team that can compete for titles if they play their cards right. Step 1 was CJ and Anderson. Step 2 is this coming off-season's free agency and draft. There has been a draft thread here for months....

    5. Steve Nelson
    6. Devin Singletary
    7. Cameron Johnston
    8. Ka'imi Fairbairn

Go get me King Henry. Isn’t he a free agent after this year?

good list and good idea, but I would put Blake Cashman at the very top.

    for outside FAs:
    1. Christian Wilkins OR
    2. Chris Jones

    3. One of the big time DEs if Greenard won’t sign for the right contract (Allen, Burns, Young, etc)

Chris Jones would be a good boost to our defense if the Chiefs let him go.

I’ll say Saquon would be my back. Can catch out the backfield and still pretty much young.

Isn't our running game super specific and requires a certain type of back? Is Saquon Barkley that type of back? His injuries make me skeptical but he is young.

Agree, good catch I don't know how I missed Cashman! I like Wilkins, don't see Jones as leaving KC or us wanting to pay him that much.

You left out Cashman, I would put him at #1 on the list, although a case can be made for Schultz.

Yep, Apollo mentioned that above and I agreed. The link I posted didn’t include Cashman on the list, hence my exclusion of him on the list.

If we can manage it, we need to pay for the best we can get.

Contingency planning has begun. It really never ends. Only the Calendar changes.

In my humble opinion [it's OK to laugh], Weeks (LS), Fairbairn (K) and Johnson (P) are key players on the list we must sign. Special Teams is rarely a difficult resign, but they do impact the game quite a bit.

Even if Fant leaves, that's okay. I'll rather allocate money into other needy position. Texans just need to move the guy they paid big bucks, last off season, back to RT.

The guy is suffering in LG right now.
