All of Amen Thompson’s makes and misses from midrange at OTE

No way I want to see the 4th pick used on Amen.

 

Yeah, this is the nail in the coffin for me. I see a lot of bad decision-making in that video to go along with the brickfest.

 

4:11 is super cringe. I could feel the wtf frustration of the shooter waiting in the corner through the screen

For an apparent pg, you definitely don't want to see something like that, especially on such a simple play

For some reason the shot clock on the bottom of the screen doesn't match up with the actual shot clock in the game, which made me think he was taking some truly unnecessary shots. Good handle, can create space. Appears to shy away from contact on drives. Did not like how he utilized some of those screens at all, he dribbled so far behind them they were useless.

Obviously the results are not there. This is a compilation of his midrange attempts which is generally going to be the worst area for most players. If they showed drives at the rim only he would probably look a ton better. Giannis in his MVP years shot 36.2% between 3 feet and the 3pt line.

Fair to be concerned. Not sure where I land yet. I really like him but again it is fair to be concerned. I generally think that a combination of MBA coaching and smart decision in regards to the shots, you take can alleviate a lot of this over the next couple years.

Today though, I am on trading back and getting Jarace Walker and Hood-Schifino. Since Harden is still a likelyhood, JHS learns from him or maybe Ty works out as far as future PG.

Who knows where the front court ends up but Sengun/Smith/Walker gives you a lot of versatility.

 

Same way Milicic, Kwame, etc... did.

Potential.

Dude is the ultimate boom or bust prospect.

 

His athleticism and passing ability are both in the 1% and he has elite size.
