If you think Joker is the worst MVP of all time or in recent memory…

I think it’s fair to disregard your opinions about the NBA. Granted, everyone has their own opinion and points. Well argued POVs.

But, this is a POV that I cannot vibe with in the sense that this player is putting on a historical performance.

Joker has already became the first center to lead the league in assists in the playoffs, yet he’s averaging 29 ppg. But, he’s also averaging a triple double.

I’ll get razzed for this one in other places, but I could say Joker is a better 2x MVP than both Karl Malone and Steve Nash. He’s a vastly better playmaker than Malone, yet he’s better defender, scorer, rebounder, and commands more attention from defenses than Nash.

Rose had the potential to be an all-time great player before his injuries, but even for his brief peak. I don’t think

I think he is a little higher above Dave Cowens, Wes Unseld, and David Robinson.

The Admiral is a tougher comparison, because he was a historically great defender and an offensive machine in his prime. But, even he couldn’t really take over playoff games, like this. He also wasn’t this kind of playmaker. Because, in old Spurs games from the 90s, the team often needed David to be consistently the best scorer on the team, each night. At least, until Duncan arrived.

With Joker, he doesn’t have to really score a lot of points.

I know someone will bring up he plays Murray and Porter Jr.

Yet, could imagine if he played with another all-time great, like Kobe, Duncan, or Pippen. Give him a crew like the 7 seconds or less Suns - Amare, Marion, Richardson, and Barbosa. He can almost compliment any group of players, due to his triple threat offense: passing, shooting range, and post scoring. Most big men are just not equipped to stop a player like that unless they have a physical & athletic advantage over them.

Problem. Jokic is also a strong 280, and is just as comfortable moving off the ball or being a pass first who doesn’t need to dribble too much.

He probably is not better than Jack Nicholson, for sure not better than Heath Ledger, but he is better than Jared Leto......

jury is out on Joaquin Phoenix, nah Phoenix is better. River is turning in his grave.

What idiots even said this? He got robbed this year so should have 3, and is the best player in the league. Best offensive player of all time, and his current peak puts him probably top 5 ever. If he has 2-3 more years at this level he’ll move into the top 10-12 players ever

The whole Perkins fiasco about 80% MVP voters being white and Joker not being a top scorer, cemented the MVP victory for Embiid. Even though national media feigned indignation, enough defended Perkin as being bullied, that it gave credibility to Embiid as MVP. As folks doubled down like Marc Jackson, that only certain folks should be viewed as elites and other from other races should not. I think Joker with 3 MVP’s was too much for certain folks to stomach.

To be fair, plenty of people were dissing Jokic because of their hatred of Sengun, trying to undermine a 2 time MVP because they hate a Rockets player that plays somewhat similar to him. Ya'll know who they are, irrational hatred so-called "Rockets fans" while claiming they love him and just hate his fans, then proceed to crap on him for his defense, etc.

Jokic literally has 3 of the top 10 highest PER season in NBA history including sitting at number 1 this year which he didn't even win MVP. He could go down as the best player ever at this rate.

Of course Nick Wright would say that. He hates on anything that could rival LeBron in his own era. He disrespects Kobe even more than Jordan.

Funny enough, Dave Cowens, his example as the worst is one of the most underrated and forgotten Centers ever. 6'9 barefoot, muscular even by todays standards, hook shot, finesse on his touch with a form that can easily be adapted to today for 3pt range. Highly physical. High passing IQ out of the post. All that and he's a lefty. We all know how annoying skilled leftys are to defend.
2x Champ, 2 way star. Nick likes to heavily weigh accolades (when they favor his argument ie LeBron vs everyone else, but vs Jordan it's stat accumulation -jordans accolades aren't = to devaluing etc etc).
Cowens didn't win FMVP in 74. Another all time underrated Hondo won it. They beat Kareem and Oscar in 7. Their stats were close, with Hondo having his best game in a 1 point loss game 6. Cowens beasted game 7 win. That alone should have won it for him(which proves 76 was one of the worst FMVP selections ever), but Kareem had a big series as his opponent and Hondo prob. got a lot of boost for outplayed Oscar by a lot.
In 76, Jo Jo White robbed Cowens of FMVP. Jo Jo averaged decent numbers, but he had a huge g6 for a close win, but yet again Cowens shined in g7 while Jo Jo had 15points on 33% Overall Cowens was the more consistent player and averaged 20 and 16 and far better efficiency. Cowens should have 1 FMVP, if not 2. If he's a 2x champ with 2x FMVPs and his numbers, he'd be talked about in the top 5 C's all time. Instead, we hear more about Bill Walton till this day.

I've continued to say this current era is starting to compare to the 70s decade(which to me is still overall the weakest era, but there were some gems), in terms of team parity, star players and stat inflation and pace. The 70's decade is what Adam Silver grew up on. He's turned this into a NBA/ABA mix of his childhood decade with what he probably wanted the ABA to do-take advantage of the 3pt line. One of the highlights of that era was great passing big men. Joker is the perfect player to usher in that skillset as big players start to mimic him.

I've never seen anything like Jokic. He's unique. If they keep his supporting cast quality, we might see a decade-long dynasty in Denver.

Embiid winning over Jokic is now turning into Robinson winning over Hakeem. Starting to see it everywhere on NBA related social media.

Some people just can't seem to fathom that someone with Jokic's build can be the best player in a sport where you should look like an Embiid or Giannis or LeBron.

Jokic never seems to have a 'bad' game while Embiid never seems to get out of the 2nd round.

How much will this dude's game even age? Can he get much slower than he already is? Sort of feels like he could be dominating basketball at age 45 if he stays healthy

Comes down to versatility and bball IQ. Embiid was quite dominant in the regular season, if you let him go 1 on 1 in the post and shoot that middie he will drop 50 on your head without breaking a sweat.

In the playoffs Brooklyn doubled him on every possession on and off ball, and he was a lot less effective. You can't do that to Jokic because the moment you try to double him he throws a pass to a open 3 or layup. Jokic might not be able to volume score like Embiid, he can control the game with all other aspects.

Embiid is like a very traditional big, but also very clumsy with his reads on offense. When you break his rhythm he gets frustrated
