I mean the Rockets version of Parsons. IMO, Parsons is a bit more athletic but Mathews do shoot better. I’m sure you guys remember how flat Parsons’ shot was . I would love to hear your thoughts on this comparison.

I notice Matthews draws a decent amount of fouls from 3, and a lot of that seems to have to do with the fact that he launches at completely unexpected intervals, at unexpected angles, leaning towards unexpected directions.

He's going to have a place in this league. Don't think I have ever seen a player on the Rockets before where I'm always surprised at the spots and angles that he pulls up at.

can't believe OP compares these guys. Chandsome was as the kids put it, a douche, whereas Garry Bird is King of Taking Charges and All-Around Anti-Boo-Boo Boy

Maturity is one angle sure, but young Parsons wasn’t a slouch on D

The huge difference here is Parsons was a ball handler, he made plays. He created his own shots, he dribble drived a TON to finish or collapse the D for an assist.

Mathew’s is one of the most strict catch and shoot players you’ll ever find in the league, the man doesn’t dribble at all. He doesn’t create plays virtually ever.

Chandler Parsons would NEVER play defense with his face like Gary.. Chandler is/was way too cute for that..

Sounds like OP should have compared him to Pat Bev.
Hustle dude, with a superior 3 pointer but weaker D

Cmon man, everyone knows you can't compare black players to white players! CLEARLY Garrison Mathews is a Matt Maloney/Steve Novak hybrid with a touch of Bobby Sura and a hint of Luis Scola

    CLEARLY

Parsons was good until he started caring about his modeling endorsements. Then he just couldn't get health.

Sorry guys, it seems like I made a bad comparison. I’m an old man and I’m not as detailed as you younger fans. My thinking was they both kind of flew under the radar before playing for the Rockets, and they both excelled in such a fast pace.

I see a lot of JR Smith in him to be honest, great to have him.

Sometimes it really do be like that. Wishing the #2 pick was at the level of Garrison Mathews
