I didn’t like I saw from him at all. We all knew he was limited offensively but he was just as bad on the defensive side. He’s got a long way to go to even be serviceable on the team.
Capela was the worst player I had ever seen play in his first 10 games, then out of nowhere he became instantly talented. Give young guys times, could be a bust, could develop later, he's young keep his ass in the g-league (as soon as we can get healthy)
He's fine. Outside of being called up due to players out, he should just be getting reps in the G League this year.
We have plenty of time to see what he can be but I thought he was further along than this. He’s a long term g-leaguer right now
Spoiler The Usman Garuba experiment is over? Spoiler Fake news. Garuba >>>>> Mobley Spoiler but really… With all due respect.
Really premature to say this given that Garuba has barely played. He's only played for 35 min total in his NBA career thus far in 9 games! We need to see him play more before coming up with these idiotic hot takes.
I can’t defend him on principle alone based solely on the the fact that he is 19 years old with the hairline of a 39 year old. How his edge up is pushed so far back already is beyond me. He’s already transitioning to the midlife, family man, wife and kids, dad bod, bald head, and full beard look and he can’t even drink alcohol legally yet in this country.
The only plusses I can see at this moment in time in Garuba's game is he actually knows how to rebound, and he's our only rookie with a grown man's body.
If he's still in the league in a few years on good money he can always do what Bron did to stop his forehead invading the rest of his skull haha.
His offense is horrendous, needs to learn how to shoot and you know play basketball in general, good defensively. If he can learn to shoot/score/cut he's automatically gonna be a fixture in the nba for a long time but you can say that about 50 guys every year Send him to the G league and tell him he needs to drop 30 a night, a year of that should do him some good.
He’s looked like a stiff to me since we drafted him, I’m not giving up, but he’s clearly not the same talent as the other guys we drafted. I don’t think he ends up being a player
He's 19 and a late 1st round pick. There is zero expectation from that draft position. "Missing" is not even a possibility. So far, I have no opinion of him, so he seems fine.
I believe the expectation of any 1st rd pick is to at least be a serviceable member of the team. The other 3 guys have met this benchmark so if Garuba does end up being a bust, it’s not bad in the grand scheme of things.
