Take a look at this list of starting centers in the league. Not advocating for trading Wood at all costs. I just think last night’s performance and the one big approach (with Wood) will only work against a few centers in the league. What do you think?

I count about 10. It is the reason we either need to find a way for Wood and Segun to play together at least 10 mins a game or trade Wood for a decent haul.

I posted a reply to you @Hemingway on Clutchfans Game Thread:
    Rockets @ Knicks 11/20/21. Post #1617

    [Part of it read]
Brooks was suppose to be the deadeye 3-point shooter to open
up the offense and create space. Now Garrison has taken that
role. It would be nice to get both going.

    [another portion]
*Defense takes a backseat this season as we want to go ahead
and tank now. But we got to fine tune this offense much better.
Thus the insertion of Brooks and Matthews takes precedent over
    defense.
Offensive Spacing!! Try to outscore everyone this year
much like the Nets last season.
    Only without the stars [Durant/Harden
/Kyrie] and without the actual, "outscoring." LoL
    _____________.

Since then we played Boston with same rotations and scored 90 points.
But changed things up as Porter came back and Green got injured vs
    Bulls and Hornets.

    [Previous games]
    Rockets points...... opponents points..........Rockets 3P%....
    ........100.2..........................111.4.........................30.9%.........
[Last Two games vs Bulls/Hornets-- one overtime game]
    Rockets points...... opponents points..........Rockets 3P%...
    .........132.0.........................128.0..........................47.1%........
    ________________

So in theory the Rockets are going with offense predominantly over defense.
The Rockets could bring back Theis now with proper spacing
provided by Brooks and/or Garrison Mathews and the team will still
do well. House contributed very little this past game.

It's more important to have one of Brooks or Garrison on the court
with one of Porter Jr or Jalen Green. It not a knock on Porter jr or Green.
It's just very complicated to get dueling banjos going for vet point guards...
let alone two point guards learning how to play the point. Brooks and
Mathews also open up Eric Gordon. Less stress on him.

Or the Rockets can keep things as they are. Wall complicates things moving
forward with the progress of Porter Jr and Green......now that the Rockets
figured things out. I guess Silas and coaching staff can fall back on that
knowledge if need be. Allow Walll to screw up the chemistry again and tank.

Would you rather fight 100 duck sized Walls or 1 horse sized Wood?

Exactly, should have sold to Wall that he could be an occasional starter.

Shutting down the door entirely is never going to be diplomatic.

    Wrong thread lol @title.

It's clear that Wood won't be able to stop any big #5's in the paint.
Most playoff caliber teams have at least one of those.
But Wood is a positive during the season against underfed midget teams.
So let's keep him, play him 30+min/game, get a few wins and damn Sengun's development.
So that Silas doesn't lose his job very soon.
    I'm so heppi.
