I think he will grow on me eventually but Al-Prawn and Woods just wish their names can be pronounced correctly

glad dm is no longer here, else we'd have to listen to him mispronouncing darnell maurley every week.

Neither of those are as bad as "Donwell House".

Needless to say I'm not impressed.

Does not seem like a good fit.

You go from guys with strong ties to Houston/Rockets to a guy like Hollins?

Whoever thought this was a good idea should probably be let go.

He’s not terrible but I just personally feel no connection to him. The broadcast just seems very dry.

Its always fun when CA tries to do something pop culture and Ryan just ignores him. Last game of the preseason, CA tried his "I love Houston, I grew up here" sarcasm and Ryan Hollins didn't pick up on it at all. *chuckle*

CA losing his whole broadcasting bag because Ryan not having any of it

Also when CA was been sarcastic about the Spurs game been the most important sporting event going on for Houston concurrently, and Ryan clearly missing the hint lolll

I do fell it’ll take some time to get the chemistry going…

I just feel like he doesn't really care if the Rockets play well or not. It's just a "Job" to him and after games he probably doesn't think about the team at all.

Yeah that was such a weird moment. He then went into a serious rant about how important that last preseason game is and that’s doesn’t bode well for his sense of humor moving forward. CA is not a hard guy to feel out and isn’t a novelty style wise. It shouldn’t be that hard to have some sort of chemistry with the guy and lighten up the mood a bit.

From a professionalism standpoint though I think he’s done well. You can tell he’s got a good understanding of what a Doris Burk or Greg Anthony would do and executes the role fine… but has no personality to give to the experience just yet. He seems like he got exactly the same training as anyone that gets a gig at NBATV.

I suppose he’s about as good as Drexler but that’s not saying much. At least Drexler has the Houston connection. I’m not at the point that he should be fired but he doesn’t add much that’s for sure.

imagine being on par with a guy who had had the job for almost 10 years. Only sky's the limit for Ryan.

He has injected more energy and volume since the first
telecast......but I would still rather mute the volume than
    listen to him.

Bring in Mario Elie with CA

I think hes a great fit and much better than what we had with the old group couple years ago

Hes more knowledgeable, quick with plays and young

Yes, he still is a bit nervous and makes mistakes but thats gonna get fixed overtime. I'm positively surprised

Yeah I don’t think he’s bad for the most part, needs to get his chemistry down with Craig Ackerman but think it can get there. Does anyone remember Alan Ashby on the Astros broadcast a couple of years ago, that almost made the games unwatchable.

He isn't as bad as I thought he would be, but having a history with the organization/city seems to be the missing piece

I am not joking when I say I think he's the best announcer we have had in my lifetime. He is so much more professional than the parade of clowns the Rockets have brought through previously. I actually enjoy listening to these guys.

He does need to learn the players names though. That's a little embarrassing. There aren't that many of them.
