Wood Wall KPJ KMJ Tate Green Isaiah Todd Olynyk Augustin Thor Giddey EJ Onu Mystery 2 way Brooks 2 way That’s the best I can come up with. I think House will be traded for a 2nd Round and that we’ll trade Gordon to move up. We will likely pick up veteran guard while green is being groomed. The question is who.
wood-(#24, Day'Ron Sharpe) olynyk-(MLE-Bol) Tate-KJ-house green-ego-thomas wall-KPJ-augustine-(#23, Sharife Cooper) The rest will be either some undrafted FA's on 2 ways or an open roster spot to save Tilly money. I think we will take green #2, Cooper #23 since I think stone should swing for the fence, same with Day'Ron Sharpe at #24. same with MLE for Bol. we aren't using that money for anything else so might as well take a chance on the big man. he can't get minutes on a contender but here we can develop him. worth the monetary risk to have that chance that he pans out. I think we resign Olynyk to an overpriced 2 year deal, 2nd year team option or NG, making him a huge trade chip and paying him more than he could find on the market to compensate him for agreeing to be a trade chip. I think house and Augustine might get traded this offseason to clear minutes for rookies, if not then by the deadline for sure. wall, and ego probably too negative money to move this year. I think wood lasts one more year before he's traded to avoid paying him max, or him leaving to join a playoff team. unless wood is winning us too many games, ruining our tank, and raising his trade value to the point where he has to go by this deadline.
I think next year’s draft is rich enough that we won’t be completely focused on tanking. Winning 25+ games isn’t out of the question. Signing Monk for a four year with a promise of increased minutes would be fantastic at the right price. He could easily become a 20ppg player. He might prefer a two year to get his numbers up for a big FA haul in 2023.
idk if we'll be better off operating under the cap or over. right now I think over which wouldn't allow for a big offer for a monk type guy. if we operate under, I can see your logic. I think over is better so we can resign guys like olynyk and Bradley (forgot about him) on larger deals to facilitate a trade. take on bad money and picks. or move them to a contender for picks. use the MLE to steal a young guy away from his team like bol. doubt a contending team is willing to overpay, but at that age (21) with those tools he easily would be a mid-late lotto pick in this draft. that rookie scale is comparable to the MLE. personally I like those options better than going under the cap and locking in big money for someone to help us move from top of the lotto to middle of the lotto. but again I see your logic, use cap space to bring in another Christian Wood type. have them up their trade value and move them before the contract expires, generating potentially another lotto pick. or maybe get surprised that wood/new guy/#2 pick somehow become a playoff team in 2 years. I get it, but I prefer another rout.
So the starting 5 would be Olynyk Wood Tate KPJ Wall Just like last season. I wonder who we'll take with our top 5 pick next year.
this is the dilemma with wall, gordon, Augustine still on the roster. I think green (if he's the pick) is the 6th man like LaMelo was for the first half of las year. wall/kpj will be too talented to not start.
Uhh these lineups with Wall in them are pissing me off. Can we start putting it into the universe now that’s he’s gone before next season! …like what were we going to do with him if we drafted Cade?
I like this, but would try to get a wing with the MLE. Can Monk play the wing position? I could see Monk as a high end 6th man scorer off of the bench.

What I want the roster to look like Trying to keep it realistic. Adams + 10 + 34 +40 for House + 24 Powell + Richardson + future 1st For Gordon Don't pick up Bradley's option. Buyout and stretch Augustin Jalen Green with 2 Josh Giddey with 10 Zaire Williams with 23 Greg Brown with 34 Quinton Grimes with 40 Adams. Powell Wood. MartinJr Brown Tate. Richardson Williams Green. Thomas. Grimes PorterJr. Wall. Giddey Brooks
Monk would be a LT contract to eventually move Wall this season if not in the preseason. Now that he has proven fairly healthy, the Rockets can probably trade him for another questionable contract for a big to back up Wood and Olynyk. The Pacers certainly have space for him.
He's untradeable without giving up assets. We aren't giving up assets. He will just need to come off the bench.
He’s totally tradable. If the Clippers lose Kawhi, they have space. I’d take Morris off their hands. I’d give up a 2025 first to move him too. As it stands, he’ll probably only play 50 games next season at the most and Tilman will be able to have insurance mitigate his salary.
Hopefully it will be a top 3 pick and and someone 6’9” or taller. Then a top 10 pick the next season and package a few picks to move BACK into the top 5. Then next season unload that FA money to a top 20 player and then see what happens.
