It’s not being talked about enough so far, we have to get bigger this offseason

To become a better defensive team we need to get bigger. It would help on crashing the boards and protecting our basket on defense.

I’ve been reading the offseason threads and most of the thing folks have been chatting about dont coincide with us getting bigger.

I see no future plan on this booard besides getting younger and getting rid of the vets.

    and then what?

we’re not going to our score anybody consistently when we have inefficient floor general in Wall(whose going to play and be a huge part of this team whether we like it or not). KPJ hasn’t shown us anything but that he’s talented but let’s be honest with ourselves: he hasn’t shown he can run the offense successfully. Between the two of them, they’re below average to average shooting from the perimter for a team that strategically likes to shoot 45+ threes a night. And because we’re small and undersized most of the time we don’t have the personnel to offensive rebound those misses.

This is why I learn towards Mobley but I’m ok with Greene but we have to get bigger.

As a team we have no strength. Can’t defend, cant rebound, and need more consistent outside shooting.

    what’s our identity?

I love our young guys but the fit is puzzling/frustrating. I like Olynyk but his defense is subpar against other bigs. It doesn’t help us defend the post. But he(along with Augustine) really know how to run the offense. Better and more efficient than our starting backcourt.

I’m so happy we keep our draft pick but theirs a lot of work to done.

All I can hope for is 2 of the three FRP’s will guys 6”9 or taller

getting bigger means absolutely nothing if you can't play big on either side of the ball. What means much more than getting simply bigger is getting guys with length that can defend.

There's no point in drafting for fit right now because it doesn't matter what actually fits right now when they're the worst team in the league. You find the best players and if guys become truly those guys who impact winning, it separates itself out that's how winning teams are built from the ground up. Slowly if done correctly, the real losers are weeded out and stick out like sore thumb

We don’t need to get bigger. We aren’t making the playoffs any time soon.

We need a franchise player before anything else.

Plus next year’s draft is loaded with Bigs.

    we’ll pick Top 5 again.

This is not the time to talk fit or roster construction. You pick the best players you can this year, and next year, and maybe next year after that. If they all turn out to be SG/PG so be it. Just hope one of them is a franchise changing player.

Phillies drafted 3 centers before they got Embiid, it's all good.

get a franchise player 1st that u can build around, and then u can worry about ancillary stuff like “getting bigger” or “not being able to crash the boards”

Why should anyone’s main concern be that right now when the team is where it’s at which is at the bottom of the barrel?

OP’s talking like this is a playoff team with some holes and not actually the worst team in the league

Most people probably don't even remember Denver traded for Nurkic in the 1st round as a mid pick. Then drafted Jokic who joined them a year later. Denver played them together and eventually Jokic displayed he was the guy slowly weeding out Nurkic who was getting benched. Then Denver finally traded him for Plumlee

I just want a direction. Atlanta was worst off than us but they had a direction.

their offseason was pretty surprising after multiple 20 win season in the last 3 years. Which clearly prioritized depth and vets. They have trey. that's not worst off then the rockets, in fact they are way ahead. They have their foundational piece they're building around. And they surrounded him with multiple 1st round picks, along with vets like capela, bogdan, lou, gallo who are all capable rotational players with significant minutes

Either way we need a franchise player to build around before we start worrying about size, defense and rebounding.

The position doesn’t matter we just need to draft and develop a superstar. We can find Role players to do the dirty work later and fill gaps when we’re actually trying to win.

They had a direction because they had Trey Young.

We don’t have a Trey Young to build around yet.

It's hard to get bigger when we're still all-in on small balls.

Worse off how? They drafted Trae Young, so that already puts them above where we’re at currently.

We have no one to build around atm

Atlanta drafts size. Trey is the only undersized player on their roster but he plays pg so it’s not a big deal.

if y’all can’t see the flawed design Building This roster I dunno what to say. We’ve takened small ball to an extreme but are confused by the results

not exactly bigger size. but it's their length and activity that complements trey well.

Obviously Capela we know has like a 7'4 wingspan.
    Hunter is 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan.
Collins is 6'9 with a 6'11 wingspan but with exceptional athleticism.
    Huerter is 6'6 with a 6'7 wingspan.
