    Rain delay topic.

I thought no one could top Bill Brown/Deshaies but TK and Blummer have really grown on me. Who's your favorite?

Man, this is a tough one. JD/Brown, to me (mid-20’s), are much more nostalgic and we’re the voices that talked us through some really great moments/seasons in the 2000’s.
But TK/Blum have such a great dynamic. They bring analytics into the broadcast so seamlessly and effortlessly. They feed really well off each other. They walk new fans through the basics of baseball. They also have the plus of being broadcasters during the golden age of Astros baseball. So for me, though it’s a close one, I prefer TK and Blum.

    Agreed.

    All of the above.

    Just no Ashby…

    And Dierker, and Gene Elston.

Outside of Old Milo and All Ashby (and those 2 Cubfan knobs they tried for a year or 2...Dolan and Raymond?) we are so spoiled by the broadcast excellence.

eta: I don't listen to the radio much anymore like I used to, but apparently those guys are pretty great too.

Hadn't caught much of the radio crew this year, but was good to hear Ford and Sparky over the weekend. Glad Sparky is doing well.

The Stros have had excellence in broadcasting since the days of Gene Elston and Lowell Passe. Fans have been very blessed to get to listen to HOF'ers. Minus Ashby/Old Man Milo.

I literally cant choose between Kalas/Blummer and Brown/Dierker. Both were/are great.

TK has the most exciting voice. JD and Blum are pretty much the same.

I listen regularly and it took a minute for Robert Ford to grow on me, but I think he’s grown into a fine play by play man. Steve Sparks is a good color commentator and as a team they do well. Overall I believe Blum is in a class by himself, I never thought I’d like anyone more than I liked JD.

To close to call? I loved Brown and JD together but Todd and Blum have been great.

We have been really lucky to have both of these teams. Blummer is growing on me.

We've definitely had some great ones.

Loved these gems from Loel Passe:

    "Now you're chunkin"

    "Hot ziggedy dog"

    "Ol sassafrass tea"

"Peanut butter up and down, jam and jelly all around"

I think they all must have been and are great, because I don't have any preference. I usually don't find that an announcer impacts my enjoyment of the game broadcast. Having said that, the Rangers TV guys sound like they're watching paint dry...which frankly, to be fair, they kinda are.

It was a different era before televised non-national contests. But NO ONE could replace Loel Passe and Gene Elston describing the game on the radio.

No wrong answer here but I love Kalas more with his enthusiasm.

Dolan was an ok guy. I had some good conversations with him in the past. Raymond was a tool and is the PbP guy the Rangers deserve.

Dierker and Brown were the best for their era.

I have always liked Bagwell when he has sat in, at least until he is too smashed in the 6th-7th inning.
