Feel sorry for those folks too young to have experienced those championship years first hand. No telling if and when they may come again. But as an indirect point of hope, Hakeem was saddled with poor teams around him for years before they won it all. I remember clearly thinking many of the same things I hear today regarding the garbage on the roster surrounding Olajuwon. You just cant always predict when a certain group of players will explode into a title team.
I think we can safely predict this group of players is not exploding into a title team. Especially not with this coaching staff and FO. They TALK like they are title contenders and building a championship culture but hell, so did the Trumpers. This is no longer an organization that believes in science.
4 and 5 during our ships so i don't really count them. my first season really remembering the rockets started with steve francis. was really hoping harden was going to follow the same route hakeem did. oh well, we'll see what the future lies.
Your about the age now that I was in those championship years. Its unfortunate your generation wasn't rewarded as mine was. Still, those years seem fleeting now. As much as I treasure those times, you can only get so much satisfaction from re-running those memories. The present is what is important and what we do with it.
