Tonight I notice 300+ seats were given to Military for the all star game, now me being a season ticket holder, my beef with this is these people who pay thousands of dollars for tickets a year just lost 300 chances to get tickets through the Lottery based selection,I am all for people who serve our country and I am not in anyway being non patriotic BUT it seems everywhere you go someone who is in the service is being handed a free ride in the US... Yeah they are fighting a war in another country and I am sure i will get some beef about I should be grateful because they are fighting to protect our country. What about the millions of homeless people in the US I do not seeany free tickets being given to them....... And the NBA wonders why the fans don't flock to the games anymore. I guess the new message the army, navy, airforce and marines are putting out is enlist and get special attention and use it and abuse it because it's the right thing to do........ I still chuckle over the snow boarders in the airforce commercial.... They should throw in FREE TICKET commecials to EVENTS like the all-star game..... Let the slamming begin
I thought that was kind of odd too, most of the people who can afford to do recreational snowboarding are typically not the same people who need to sign up for the military for money or interest.
These people are fighting to preserve our way of life. They have always been part of the fabric of America. What are 300 tickets..when the place holds 20,000 or so?What are 300 tickets compared to being able to HAVE AND ENJOY SUCH A THING AS AN ALL STAR GAME AT ALL?There would be no USA without people like them! We live in the most dangerous time in the history of the planet. We have many enemies that would like to see our country wiped off the face of the earth and these are the folks on the front line....dying,protecting you!
if you feel that strongly that risking your life on a foriegn soil is just an excuse to get tickets to the All Star game -- go enlist!!!
You sound like someone who's bitter that he wasn't able to go to the ASG. You also sound like a complete idiot.
I am not a big fan of fighting wars abroad. However, being a soldier is a very risky and low-reward job. They are severely underpaid for what they do, and the jobs ususally require them to risk their lives and to seperate themselves from their families. Giving 300 free tickets to these people is nothing compared to what they are giving to this country. That being said, I hate the idea of fighting wars abroad!
You do realize that Colorado Springs, home of the Air Force Academy, is only 60 miles from Denver. I'd much rather 300 free tickets go to soldiers than a bunch of corporate suits who don't even follow the game.
yeah, like the common fans would get these tickets. this post seems like someone was just looking for something to b**** about. I dont think the NBA is keeping people away from "flocking" to the games by giving away free tickets to some of the most admired and respected people in the country. Besides, a bunch of suits or celebs would have been given those seats anyways.
