was our franchise in jeopardy? Did Jeff Balke's efforts save our team? I think so. Yet, we are still apathetic and hesistant as far as making noise and buying tickets?? Thank God for Jeff for saving our nba team, but remember, we could've lost the stros and we did lose the oilers. We're a large market, relatively speaking, but let us not take our teams for granted.

1.fans dont want to support players like Cato,Taylor,Norris that make a huge salary and dont earn it
2.with the low cost of dish and entertainment surround sound setups, its like being at the game live in our living rooms
3.traffic is a biotch for me atleast
4.Im sick of seeing bigger power forwards eat us alive, its literally embaressing

Houston just isn't a town that's wild about sports. This is a city that love fotball, yet whenever the Oilers weren't winning, the Dome was practically empty. Sy what you will about not supporting losing teams, but if you look around the NFL, the majority of the teams selout or close to sellout regardless of the teas on field performance. The Astros and Rockets have along history of poor attendance. As a fan of all of Houston's sports teams, I've always found it frustrating ollowing these teams ecause how can you expect an owner or GM to go out an spend money to improve the team when the team is among the worst attendance draws in the league? I think the general lack of interest in Houston for it's sports teams was a major contributing factor to why Houston did not receive one of the 4 NHL expansion franchises awarded several years ago to Nashville, Columbus, Atlanta, and Minnesota. There were only 5 cities vying for 4 franchises and the NHL found villages like Columbus and Nashville more attractive than the 3rd largest city in America. In the 70's, a soccer match between Pele's World Cup winning Brazil team and Argentina, considered at the time to be one of the biggest match-upsin soccer history, was planned for the Houston Astrodome. Teevent neve occurred due to lack of interest. Now I realize it's soccer and personally I can't stand the sport, but I still find it pathetic that a city as prosperous and the size of Houston can't get more than few thousand fans over to the Dome for the biggest match of the decde in world soccer (and you also have to factor in the popularity evn in this cuntry of Pele at the time). And most of Houston sports teams are considered "small market teams". It's amazing that the 3rd largest city in America could be considered a small market team. If teams like the Rockets and Astros do not wow us with big moves, it's really on the fans of Houston for never supporting their professional franchises at a level that competes with the better attendance cities in the country.

    lol...and New York isn't?!?!?
Not being able to speak English doesn't mean you can't go watch games!
With a city as big as ours.......there should be a higher attendance.
Well yes...cheaper tickets would be nice.
    We must support our team!
BUT OUR TEAM hasn't proved crap yet...hopefully, with the new uniforms and new arena and new coach......more people will go to watch!

im sure no one goes to celtics games, cuz vin baker is making all that money but doesnt earn it, hmm, or the sonics with their 3 stooges, utahs ostertag, new jerseys mutombo, new yorks entire team, shawn kemp, damon stoudemire, tom gugliota...theres a million other stupid ass contracts out there.....

catos contract isnt much over the top for a center. mooch doesnt make too much money, its just that its over 5 years. im sick and tired of hearing about this...the only player on our team with a truly ridiculous contract is taylor. and when i think of that contract, i get pissed off, but then i just log on, and look at the salaries of other teams, and see how much more **** most of the other teams in the league are in.
