I was just thinking that Francis would still be on his max contract had he not been bought out. Aren't T-Mac and Yao also max players? Are we the only team in the league with three max players (if one considers Francis one despite the buyout, I know he is no longer technically one)?
who on the suns is all maxed, cause im pretty sure nash isnt and the only other two possible ones would be marion and stoudemire. Even tho i would probably have to consider nash a max player since he is amazing and probably should be paid max
If Curry is maxed then the Knicks are idiots. Curry does not have max talent and certainly does not perform like a max player.
from what i can remember i don't think yao is a max player. im pretty sure tracy is though. but think about it, we would really be screwing ourselves if we had 3 max contracts... no thanks for over paid talent unless we were winning rings.
No because Francis is not a Max player under any conditions. First he is not good enough to be a max player at this point and second he does not get paid like a max player. Your entire thread is ridiculous that is like saying "if I was a bird I could fly" it does not really matter because you are not. There are alot of players that have been max players in the past but no longer are so NO even by your qualifications we are not the only team with "3 max players".
Yao and Stoudamire both signed their contract extension before their rookie contracts expire. The difference was, Yao did received a max contract, while Stoudamire received something that's slightly less than a max contract..
No amare signed a max deal as well. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2187484 Stoudemire, who turns 23 next month, signed a five-year, $73 million contract extension last week, the maximum allowed under the NBA's collective bargaining agreement with the players union.
So what do y'all think Francis' market value would have been this offseason had he just been a regular free agent?
By this logic, I think the Rockets had 3 max players in 04/05, too, since Dikembe was getting paid something like 15 million a year after getting bought out on top of his Rockets salary.
Yao's contract was like $75-77 Mil, right? In that case, how is Stoudamire's $73 Mil a max contract?..
If the Heat are giving a 2 year contract to Smush freakin' Parker, Francis probably could have at least commanded the full MLE from them. Which is peanuts compared to the 30 mil he just got not to play in Portland... thus, he's come home.
Ah... fogot Yao didn't get his extension until later... but he was a "max level player" and everyone knew it.
Probably due to this. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/suns/2005-10-03-stoudemire_x.htm The deal is the maximum allowed under the NBA collective bargaining agreement for the forward who jumped from high school to stardom. The exact figures won't be known until next year's salary cap is set, Suns president Bryan Colangelo said. They have identical salaries according to this. http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/houston.htm http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/phoenix.htm
The one difference is you can see how yao is loyal while amare is not. Amare gave himself a player option for the last year, while Yao chose not to do that and gave his loyalty to the rockets for the duration of the contract.
