Am I the only one that thinks 3-D Movies are overrated? Not just that, now that they are making 3-D T.V.'s... Who's seriously going to put on a pair of 3-D glasses every time to watch some T.V.? I hear the glasses are pretty expensive themselves.
Did you see a movie like Avatar in 3D??? There is a huge difference between that type of 3D and the typical crappy 3D

Avatar was awesome in 3d. Awesome. Clash of the Titans not so much. From the demo at Best Buy, I think 3d tv looks freakin awesome... I've seen so many people b****ing about 3d on the internet. Most have never even watched anything in 3d but hate it anyway. Almost all are upset because they can't afford it/just bought a new HDTV. I love any new technology, especially one that increases immersion. I await mainstream 3d video games eagerly.

If it's done properly it's great but that's usually also depend on the movie. Right now we are paying extra because it's a new technology. I'm pretty sure it's the gaming industry that's going to push 3D to a new level.
You guys need to forget the 3 D movies and go to the SONY STORE in the Galleria and watch same LIVE SPORTS in 3D They showed THE MASTER there last month ...
Well if done right it's pretty awesome...but the only movie that truly integrates 3D technology into the experience is Avatar...no other movie has come close to what it achieved. And now everyone's trying to jump on the bandwagon without understanding why the 3D in Avatar was so spectacular in the first place. So to me, it may not be a gimmick, but it's very much a niche technology/genre within the media world. Yeah technology is great. But honestly I think they're trying to push this way too soon, when HD hasn't even been fully adopted yet. There are plenty of households that still have CRTs, cable/satellite providers still carry a plethora of standard def channels and countless programs that still haven't transitioned to high-def. I think HD needs to become the norm first before 3D has a legitimate chance...and I think 3D needs to advance to the point where you don't need to wear glasses to enjoy it. I DO NOT want to wear glasses every time I want to watch a show. If I wanted to wear glasses all the time I wouldn't have switched to contacts long ago. So to recap...if the industry can produce the quality of 3D that you see in Avatar on a regular basis, and if they can do it without requiring you to wear glasses.... then hell yeah.
It will have some serious limitations in homes. The viewing angle and distance from the TV will dramatically reduced the awesomeness. Sitting in the perfect spot just for the 3D is not practical when you have 4 people around a 54" TV.
That's one big problem Each glasses cost $159-199 If you have a group of friends over to watch the game say, 8 friends that's wut $1500 for glasses?
