now that everyone is off the ou bandwagon, every seems to be thinking lsu is favored and can easily do what ksu did, but i'm thinking that just to piss me off ou is gonna go out there and dominate. they won't lose and make my season. i'm almost certain of it. as for the 3 team/#2 thing. #1 and #2 go to the title game, period, end of story. if we were 2, ou 1, and ksu the big xii winner, ksu is out, that's just how it is. espn had a story called something like "when a conference championship isn't a conference championship" which addressed this scenario.
Let's see...LSU has one of the best, maybe the best, defenses in the nation. They are playing, essentially, a home game for them. Over the years, whenever an SEC team was involved in the NC race and played in the Sugar Bowl, the results for their opponent in that game usually were not good (see Miami in '93 and Florida State in '97(?)).
I think OU rolls LSU. The K State game was a fluke, and Stoops will have his team ready Jan 4th. I do think it is wrong for OU to be able to paly for the NC when they didnt even win the Big 12N, although within the rules that are applicable today they can so I will have to live with it. I`m a Husker fan and didnt think it was right 2 years ago when the same thing happened to the Big Red. I do believe every confrence should have a Championship game and that should have a bearing on the bowl berths.
