anyone know what the rox are gonna do w/ our second round pick? anyone see any diamonds in the rough like mobley, cassell, arenas, rashard lewis...
I see the pick as toilet paper -- something the Rockets can wipe their ass with and throw it away. But if they want a deep, deep sleeper, they should get Erwin Dudley. He sucked this year, but he was great last year.
I've posted this guy's name before on another post... I think we need a banger inside, enforcer type guy (ala Larry Smith, Otis Thorpe)... His name is Uche Nswondu-Amadi 6'10/260 PF/C from Wyoming St. He's a banger that will surprise people with his scoring ability around the basket... Just a guy I'd like to have a role player that would fit nicely at the PF position...
Who cares? The guy will never sniff the court without 2/3 of the team going down with season-ending injuries first. We want Boki!
Yes... Sam Cassell was a second round pick... I remember because I wanted the Rox to pick Nick Van Exel... Thank goodness we didn't... Hey I like NVE but we won with Cassell... Robert Horry was a first round pick the year before...
HakeemDaDream, Not sure what SwoLy-D was getting at giving you a link to the 2002 draft other than we had the 34th pick last year, Dream's number. However, nbadraft.net has a mock 2003 draft up. In it we have the 42nd pick and take some guy name Travis Hansen, a 6-6 shooting guard out of BYU. http://www.nbadraft.net/
I think Chris Marcus is a good bet. Collier's going to walk, and we may have to unload Cato's salary and he may be unhappy with his minutes. Marcus has been playing a while now, and if he can get into decent shape, I think he's good for 10 minutes off the bench.
Dahntay Jones from Duke, James Lang High Scool center, Luke Walton(ugh), Kyle Korver from Creighton(one of the best shooters in college), Ron Slay might be a steal, Chris Marcus are some players that might get picked.
Look at that draft list. Cassell was 24th, and 12 through 23 really don't compare to him. What a steal.
What are you talking about?! Magic Johnson was selected one pick ahead of Cassell! Man, that entire draft was pretty weak. Webber is the only one that has had an all star career.
