25 previews on the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO.

KOTOR is IMO a top 5 game ever. I played that one so much its crazy. It also doesn't help that most Star Wars games have been pretty bad so if you are a big Star Wars nerd like me KOTOR, was a godsend. KOTOR 2 sucked so bad because Bioware wasn't involved.

KOTOR 2 didn't suck, first of all. It just wasn't as good as the first. Secondly, Bioware was involved, just not directly. The problem with the game was that it was rushed and massive amounts of content were cut.

The problem was not Obsidian. They get kind of a bad rap. I mean, the people from there were the team behind the original Fallouts, Planescape:Torment, and others...they know how to make quality RPGs.

 

Is this on PS3?

 

KOTOR is one of my favorite games of all time. In fact, top 5. KOTOR 2 is great too, just not as good. When they announced this I wanted to be excited. Though I knew that I wanted a single player game much more than an MMO. Still, wanted this game. My first MMO I was going to play (I think paying 15 dollars a month for one game is the absolute most ridiculous thing ever).

But I saw some gameplay the other day. It plays like a generic MMO, and I don't like that playstyle too much. It doesn't look like KOTOR. And I got to thinking about it and theres no way the story could be up to KOTOR level in an MMO.

So now I'm not sure and im officially pissed its an MMO. I like single player RPGs much much better. I love Bioware but I dont know. I havent read the previews yet so i guess ill look into it.

At least I have Mass Effect 3 to look forward to

 

I played and really, really enjoyed KOTOR. It was only recently that I realized, by reading through different forums, that there are a ton of people out there that think its a top 10 game of all time.

I've heard people listing Mario 3, Zelda Ocarina and LTTP, Chrono Trigger, FF7, and KOTOR in their lists.

It actually came as a surprise, but looking back I shouldn't have been. That game was extremely playable, both by Star Wars geeks like myself, and the casual fan. Its also very REplayable. I've probably played through it 3 times with totally different characters.
