Craig Biggio's 26 hits away from 3000. If you were a betting man, would you take the over or under at 25.5 games startedthat he achieves 3000?

    Sadly, I'd take the over.

I think it's sad that so many so called Astro fans (not you macalu/PGab) have been ragging on Bidge all season long as if his quest for Astro (and baseball) history is the only thing holding the team back from an undefeated season and WS sweep or something.

As a life long Astro fan, I would rather see him out there every night until he gets 3,000 (hopefully at home) instead of blaming him for all of our problems this year. He's given so much to this city and this franchise and done it all with class, I think he deserves that. Especially given the fact that this team isn't exactly a WS favorite.

BI - GEE - OO!!!! BI - GEE - OO!!!!

Let's see. He has 44 hits in 47 games this year. A hit a game roughly equates to a .250 average. If he picks it up just a little he could get it. I'll go out on a limb and say under. But you can't assume he'll play every game because you know he'll get his days off. And we have 6 day game after night games between now and your cutoff date. So I say under 26 starts, but later than June 26.

b/c i'd like to think he could average at least a hit per game.

I don't see the rush in getting to 3000. Let the man play home games, sit him on the road. He needs the rest anyway, he doesn't need to play every day. What does it matter if he gets to 3000 in July, or August, or September? And if we win a few more road games because Loretta's starting in place of Bidge, I don't think that would hurt anything either.

Well, it is only one of the problems but one down and 4 to go is better than none down and five to go.

And, I want Biggio to get the 3k hit too.......if the team is going to suck, then at least give the fans something or someone to root for.
