Wow wow wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an ending... from Mrs. Palmer to the President only going one term to the chopping of the hand to Jack FINALLY breaking down in the car... then feeling obliged to carry through with the interrogation. Simply, wow. I'm speechless. Wow. Did I say wow?
Oh and kudos to the writers for the emotional breakdown ending... instead of making up some trite cliffhanger. Give Keifer an Emmy for that scene alone!
I enjoyed it. I came in halfway through the season never having watched an episode of 24 and liked the series a lot. I know many people say that the other two seasons were a lot better, so I started watching the first season last night. My only question is why would you give someone without clearance a gun in the CTU headquarters? I didn't like them killing Saunders off like that.
great ending, the 2nd half of the season was probably the best its ever been. Unfortunately we have to wait until January for the 4th season. It's a shame they will be losing so many original characters. Tony, Palmer, Chapelle along with Michelle.
My wife left the room when she figured out that Jack was going to use the axe. Me? I was just like, "Rock on, Badass!" I couldn't figure out why they didn't evacuate the school. Surely Jack could take 2 seconds to radio someone to get the kids out. Also, since when is a fridge airtight? And where the hell was that stupid daughter of Saunders? Why no Chloe or Adam in the finale? Who the hell lets a grieving wife pack up her dead husband's GUN? Why is b****elle worried about Tony, when Palmer can just wave his hand and pardon him? Okay. Enough with the questions.... So, is Dennis Haybert NOT coming back next season? He wasn't listed as one of the "fired" regulars. Granted, I was getting tired of his noble antics, but I can't imagine 24 without him. Also, if Chloe doesn't come back, count me OUT for season 4...
Gael's wife didn't have a gun... she found it at Gael's desk and took it when the guy that was supposed to be watching her for Kim turned away to sign some document or something. I thought it was a nice twist. Unexpected.
I'm not sure about that. If you look at the box at the beginning of the scene, you can see a black object at the bottom that resembles a gun (I pointed this out to my wife). Also, if I recall, she notices the gun WHEN IT'S ALREADY IN THE BOX. Might have to go back and watch that scene again (thanks, DVR!).
Could someone post the list of the "fired" actors? I've avoided it to prevent from being "spoiled", but now I'm ready to see it. Don't forget, no Sherry either. And I really liked her too. The axe was sheer genius. I, too, wondered about the security of the fridge. And I can't believe that Chloe ended up being just a quirky, yet competent employee at CTU. I was so sure she would be involved in the end. In that final scene, I thought Jack was either going to shoot up some heroin or just off himself due to the immense amount of emotion that came pouring out. But of course, he continues to fight the good fight. I was kind of expecting the guy that radioed him to say that Michelle had broken Tony out of CTU, thus giving us a cliffhanger. No Season 4 till January? Waaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
link didn't work Time runs out for some '24' actors Several CTU members may not be back Monday, May 24, 2004 Posted: 8:51 AM EDT (1251 GMT) LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- "24's" Counter Terrorism Unit will undergo some major downsizing this fall. Sources said that the actors who play Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) CTU colleagues on the Fox drama have been informed that their options as series regulars will not be picked up for next season. Reiko Aylesworth and James Badge Dale, who play CTU members Michelle Dessler and Chase Edmunds, respectively, received the news just as they were to attend the Fox party after the network's upfront presentation to advertisers last Thursday, sources said. The two, as well as Carlos Bernard (aka CTU's Tony Almeida), could return to the real-time drama next season for guest appearances. Also up in the air is the "24" future of Mary Lynn Rajskub, Zachary Quinto and Daniel Dae Kim, who played CTU members on a recurring basis. Meanwhile, Elisha Cuthbert, who plays Jack's daughter and CTU analyst Kimberly Bauer, is fielding film offers and is expected to recur next season subject to her availability. She was most recently in theaters playing a former p*rn star in "The Girl Next Door."
Thanks! So the dad from "Unhappily Ever After" could follow Pedro Cerrano as our next president? Unbelievable. I wonder if Bobcat Goldwaith will play the VP?
She opened a drawer and apparently noticed the gun. We don't see it (I assume so the shooting will be a surprise, even though it wasn't really surprising). I enjoyed the fact that the good guys always drove Fords and the bad guys usually had some sort of GM product, even the carjacked car was a Chevy (and even when Tony kidnapped Saunders daughter from CTU, he drove the only non-Ford at CTU, driving off in a GMC SUV). The message? Only bad people (or people doing bad things) drive GM cars. So the dad from "Unhappily Ever After" could follow Pedro Cerrano as our next president? That guy (Geoff Pierson) played a recurring role as a Senator on The West Wing, too. I found that odd enough. Maybe Alan Dale (Vice President Prescott) can pry himself away from "The O.C." and "NCIS" long enough to be President.
So...was the school right next to the hospital? Took Jack like one commercial break to go from the teacher's lounge to the hospital waiting.
They do compress time a slight bit during the commercials, but even with that, they've flouted the "real time" convention many times over the course of the series to keep the show moving.
Man, do I hate the character of Chloe. To me she appeared so annoying and amateurish. She seemed like someone's secretary, instead of an actual CTU agent. I hope to god that she doesnt come back next year.
if anyone is kind enough for someone to give me a copy of the last epidsoe. i try to program it on the vcr but my dad took it out. i wasnt able to watch b/c I was graduating from Westfield High School tonight. Please if anyone has the last epidsoe on tape, please for god sakes i want to have. i'm willing to pay shipping charges for it since i'm desperated for a copy. i cant wait until dvd comes out. The suspence is killing me lol.
Perhaps Dennis Haysbert changes his mind http://66.51.173.18/cgi/gofuton.cgi?action=newswire&id=6603 "As for regulars Kiefer Sutherland, Dennis Haysbert and Elisha Cuthbert, all three are expected to return with Cuthbert more than likely being demoted to recurring status due to her feature commitments. Nevertheless, fans of the series should take note that in previous seasons Sarah Clarke and Penny Johnson Jerald's options weren't picked up however each went on to play critical roles in both this season and last season."
