Despite trying desperately to remain uninterestd until ink is signed, I am glued to the coverage. I am a pathetic sucker to the media frenzy. Should be fun to see how the chips fall, but realistically I think it will take weeks before pieces are in their final place. Anyway, as much as our talks have been dedicated to Bosh, I haven't gotten any strong sense of what our second option will be if Bosh goes elsewhere. I know Joe Johnson has been thrown around, but haven't heard much to corroborate. Anyone have any legitmate targets other than bosh, johnson, lebron or wade?
Yeah I'm constantly watching espn for updates on free angency. Have a bad feeling we wont get anyone though. At least anyone good.
The funny thing is, LeChoke isn't the kingmaker, it's Bosh, but he doesn't seem to realize it. We know Wade wants to stay in Miami, so all Bosh has to do is decide which superstar to join. After that, everything quickly falls into place. Unless, Bosh selects Houston, then everything unravels. .
Man I can't wait for free agency to start! :grin: Personally I want the rockets to try sign Kyrylo Fesenko this free agency, a good young 7'0 with an impressive 9'4 and 7-4 wingspan. Was able to hold his own against the Lakers big front line in the playoffs --RB
We'll start hearing a lot more info after 7/1, even if we can't actually sign anybody until 7/8. Let the more accurate rumors begin!
It'd be cool if while everyone is scrambling for free agents, we pull off a trade to bring CP3 to Houston.
About a week ago I thought our chances of getting Bosh were slim to none and slim had just left town, but after seeing a report on ESPN saying that Bosh has said he will only do a sign and trade deal (to get more money) to a new team I feel like slim came back to town. I think Bosh KNOWS he cannot carry a team on his own so that is why he was looking at joining Wade or James. Well neither of those teams can do a S&T in the fashion we can. I think Morey's pitch, with his analysis of what Bosh's game would be like next to Yao,will be very pursuasive. All that to say, I feel like we have a real chance at getting Bosh.
Can we do a clutchfans game such that a clutchfan has to pick who the Rockets major signing is and on what day he will sign?
I am checking twitter constantly and am SUPER exicted for 11pm to hit. I know not much will happen right away but just the thought is driving me mad. I hope we get Jefferson/Rubio in some mega deal but something/anything would be nice in the first 48 hrs.
this may be a little far fetched, but what hasnt been this offseason, while everybody is worried about the big four (wade/james/bosh/johnson) the rockets are going to get cp3 in a trade and also get marc gasol in a trade with memphis. Trade brooks/picks for cp3 and trade jeffries/battier/hill for gasol. Gasol would pretty much be the starter with yao not getting to play very much coming off foot surgery. Thus this: P.G.-Chris Paul/Kyle Lowry S.G.-Kevin Martin/Jermaine Taylor S.F.-Trevor Ariza/Chase Budinger P.F.-Louis Scola/Patrick Patterson and/or Chuck Hayes C- Yao Ming/Marc Gasol Or sign and trade scola for gasol and have a Froncourt of a 7'1 gasol and 7'6 Ming
