am not sure yet about the final bench line-up but one thing's for sure.. our bench will be deep and highly talented
Only thing I wish is for a 4/5 who could run the court with those guys. The other 4 dudes you mentioned can wreak some havoc.
When whatever team is doing their "load management" game...we should absolutely start the 2nd squad and just run 'em down, run 'em off for the first 10 minutes or so. UNLV style.
Landale looked like Matt Schaub to start the season but he was running by the end. Maybe the Oregon UDFA can be the guy to keep up with all these athletes? Backup 5 is definitely a weak link.
Uncle Jeff is getting up there, but he was great for them last year in the half court and in transistion. He showed he still has it and is always ready to come with it on both ends. I dont know how much time he's got left on the court, but if he plays like he did last year, then he's STILL getting up there.
Man, Landale was actually really good exactly starting from the moment that the team went from having one of the slowest pace in the NBA to having one of the fastest pace. Once we switched pace to fast, he was hustling for every loose ball, surprising us protecting the rim a bit, making 3’s at a decent rate and just running hard in transition defense/offense. Also, Jabari was good at the 5 except against elite starting C’s. Teams don’t run the entire bench unit together, it tends to overlap with a starter or two. Jabari could get some extra minutes with the bench where he’s also allowed to be more aggressive with his shotmaking. Would open up the lane for Amen beautifully too.
If I had my druthers... the bench would be guards Amen & Sheppard wings Cam & Tari (& Uncle Jeff) bigs Jalen Smith & Adams
50 pts a night/ 98 Defensive rating contending with the 1978 Bullets as one of the best benches of All time. Crazy that the Bullets team scored 114 pts a night back in 400 B.C. A brief history of bench brigades https://www.sportskeeda.com/basketball/5-best-benches-in-nba-history
I would have Brooks on the bench if we still have him, but you are right we already have one of the best benches in the league. We have a super solid 9 man rotation and flexibility with a couple of other guys for matchup purposes. FVV Jalen Amen Jabari Sengun Cam Brooks Tari Adams Other guys according to matchups: Landale Sheppard Green Tate I hope this changes a bit by jettisoning Tate, Green, and maybe Landale for a quality vet combo guard or future picks.
