So I turn 21 tmrw and am going out on 6th street tonight for my first "legal" experience. Now a lot of my friends are already 21 and the ritual now in college is to take 21 shots....any advice on what to drink? I know a lot of the stuff will be free at the bars and I will probably get sick either way. Should I start with the hard stuff and then take the easty ones to make it to 21? I dont think you will have much choice in what kind of shots you friends buy you. Just hope they are not evil and buy you the nastiest ones they can think of. I forgot what it was called but the worst one i had was a mixture of about every liquor behind the bar. Mind erasers are also kind of rough. Have fun and dont overdue it too much. If you start to feel crappy/way too wasted stop drinking. This 21 shots thing must be new. I graduated almost 2yrs ago and no one i know did it.

The correct recipe is Tequila, 151, Jaegermiester, and Rumplemintz I was given one of these expensive drinks by my father one time (he owned a sports bar). It was a very large shot. Tasted pretty nasty and was very stout. Made me feel kinda sick. Wouldn't recommend it. -- droxford
Dude, you are insane if you drink 21 shots. 21 beers would get you drunk enough to be plenty sick. Whatever you do, make sure you eat well all day and drink a lot of water at night. Good luck. And happy birthday.

I did 18 shots of tequila one time at a cabin party when I was only 16, so I don't think that 21 is an impossible number to reach for a hardy 21 year old. Then again, I grew up in Newfoundland... I find that tequila has always given me a much more pleasant buzz than other forms of liquor. However, I have also found that tequila gives me extremely nasty hangovers. Drinking copious amounts of water throughout the night is a must. Follow every three shots with a large glass of water (at least) and you should be okay. Water is the key.
