What does it look like now? C - Adams - Capela - Jabari PF - Sengun - Jabari - Uncle Jeffy SF - KD - Tari - Tate SG - Amen - DFS - Cam PG - FVV - Sheppard - Holiday Rocket River
Sengun/Adams Capela Bari/DFS/Jeff Green KD/Tari/Tate/Cam Amen/Holiday Fred/Reed we needed another guard. We didn’t need $20 mil in backup centers. But still like this team.
Sengun/Adams/Capela Bari/DFS/Jeff Green KD/Tari/Tate Amen/Cam/Holiday Fred/Reed/Holiday Would love to see if we could get a solid backup SG with Cam. Is Brogdon a FA?
Obviously they are doubling down on the big lineups. And remember the stretch last season in which we bled points in the paint? Multiple games where the opposing team scored 60+ there. Depth was supposedly our calling card in ‘24-25, but the team ran out of steam towards the end of the regular season.
It’s pretty easy: FVV, Amen, Reed Amen, Reed, DFS KD, Tari, DFS, Tate Jabari, DFS, Tari, Uncle Jeff Sengun, Adams, Capella Cam is probably gone, but if he stays he will be third stream SG.
Do you think the growth of guys like Reed, Amen and Cam could give us the guard play we need? Also KD can handle it and get us in our offense if need be. I know Holiday is not all that, but I think he is serviceable for stretches. I agree with you though, I thought if we could get a guy like Trent Jr or Kennard that would make use VERY solid. I like what we have built so far with the new additions. We are so versatile on both ends of the floor.
We have great flexibility with Amen and DFS and even KD to a certain extent. Amen can play 1-4, DFS can play 2-4, KD can play 2-4. Jabari can play 3-5. Tari can 3-4. FVV 1-2. Holiday 1-2. Reed 1-2.
If Cam is here and comes in with his head on right to take advantage of this opportunity, he could be 2nd SG. I think on nights he is working, you could rest kd more. This team will have a lot of versatility amongst players like Amen, Bari, Tari, DFS, and even kd. All of them can play multiple positions on any night.
C - Sengun - Adams - Capela - Jabari PF - Jabari - Sengun - Tari - Uncle Jeffy SF - KD - DFS - Tari - Amen - Tate SG - Cam - Sheppard - Holiday PG - FVV - Sheppard - Amen Thus, no starter at the 2 and huge question marks at the backup 1.
I see Cam as more of a forward than a guard, and the fact that they are still trying to trade him makes me think he won’t be here this fall, but if he is still here, I’d expect him to play mainly at the 2. Certainly Amen and Reed are gonna have to step up or we are going to have another yr with our backcourt as the weak link. It’s perplexing the neglect of the backcourt. But I don’t want to take away from the good job the front office has done this summer.
The Rockets have already put out the list through Iko so I don't get why we'd be guessing. It's: Sengun Durant Bari Amen FVV
It’s very obvious. I don’t know why anybody would argue about it. Once they decided to keep FVV (which most of us knew was going to be the case) and signed Durant and extended Jabari, there is no reasonable other outcome.
I don't think we need to worry about SG's. We are going to have the lowest perimeter scoring but an absolutely devastating rim scoring and defense with the Sengun / Adams / Capela front court. The guards will just toss the ball off the backboard from the 3 pt line and feed the sharks at the rim.
Sengun, Adams, Capela KD, JSJ, Jeff Green DFS, Tari, Tate Amen, Holiday, Nate FVV, Reed This roster appears to be built on the Rockets' belief that Reed is ready.
1-FVV, Sheppard, Holiday 2-Amen, Cam, Holiday 3-Durant, DFS, Tari, Tate 4-Jabari, Tari, Tate, Green 5-Sengun, Adams/Capela
