Astros claim relief pitcher Miguel Diaz and Cooper Hummel Bennett Sousa undergoes season ending surgery Spoiler
So should we focus on signing Bregman or Tuck? I’m worried Bregman is on the decline (albeit slow decline) and peeked in 2019 while Tucker still has many 30/30 seasons in him and more upside in addition to being a lefty bat. Yeah I have no clue who can fill in for Bregs and recency bias is definitely a factor so … Tuck or Bregman?
Even though we got swept by that Yankees, there things that make me optimistic. We had lots of offense even with Alvarez and Bregman being lifeless. Diaz is the real deal and could get MVP votes Pena's new swing looks damn good Chas is showing last season wasn't a fluke Altuve is still Altuve Meyers and Dubon aren't nothings at the plate Starting pitching other than the first game has been amazing Montero is showing a pulse We could have a legit 6 man rotation without Garcia, Urquidy, and McCullers
Jesus the parade of new pitchers that have, or will pitch in the Mexican League continues to filter through the Astros relief corp. I suspect Seth Martinez is puffing his chest out and may walk into Uncle Dana’s office and ask for a permanent locker that isn’t by the shitter. Coleman sent down? I don’t get that one - but whatever. If I’m a reliever in Sugar Land I have to question how bad I am with every reliever that can get a visa sleeping in the MMP parking lot waiting their turn to audition for Astros reliever.
Coleman sucks. He walked a guy and got very lucky on a 3-2 count with a guy chasing a slider off the plate and in the dirt. His velocity wasn't what it used to be either. Whitley should be ashamed of himself for not getting on this roster. Most important spring training of his career and he gets a boo boo on his finger and shuts it down.
