I agree. I don’t see the need to bring in any more OF’s. With Garcia coming back and JP we are loaded with pitching depth (maybe a reliever or two as usual would be good to add). We really just need a new manager and Maldonado to be gone completely. I do not want him anywhere near our team. I seriously believe we would still be the front runners for the WS if we didn’t have Maldonado or Dusty.
It's not quite time yet, but the end for 2023 looks to be closer than any of us want. The light at the end of the tunnel looks to be a train headed at us.
I actually think that Julks DFA'd and then sold for cash is about his value. As for Dubon, it's a shame because he really is a great 13th player and saved the team's bacon when Altuve was hurt. An injury to Altuve or Pena would mean he would be needed. He could easily bring back a Myles Straw like return if Brown takes the hint and decides that same type of deal must be made because Dusty is back.

I say it every year, more pitching. Maybe this year, better pitching is more apt. This team is built to win playoff series. That means, pitchers who deliver under pressure. September Starter ERA Framber...3.42 Javier.......4.50 JV............5.19 France....5.75 Brown.....9.14 https://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats...split/45/table/pitching/sort/innings/dir/desc This isnt going to cut it. We may have enough bodies for 2024, but are they worthy?
The crazy possibility. JV type deal with the Angels. Trout 7 years left along with $120M for 2 of our best prospects or SPs . Keeps us under Tax Threshhold and reduces injury risks for an aging player who still impacts the game when healthy. Tax hit ~$20M/yr C Diaz 1B Abreu 2B Altuve 3B Bregman SS Pena LF McCormick CF Trout RF Tucker DH Alvarez I know this isn't likely, but if this were to happen, what's your line-up?
1. 2B Altuve 2. CF Trout 3. DH Alvarez* 4. LF McCormick 5. RF Tucker* 6. C Diaz 7. 1B Abreu 8. 3B Bregman 9. SS Pena
Mlbtraderumors is reporting that SD wants to cut payroll down to about $200M next year (and they may make front office changes) Considering they have 12 players guaranteed $175M, just Soto's 2024 salary will put them over $200M with Barlow and Grisham still due arbitration raises and the remainder of their roster to pay. They may be a ideal off season trade partner.
I know he's injured a ton . . . but his contract is going to be looking pretty good in the next few years. Especially if someone else pays for some of it . . .
Word on The Street is that his wife also think that he is an insufferable duckhead. This is his FB photo. No lie.
