Drew Hill was 5’9” and 180 lbs. Ernest Givens was 5’9” and like 175 lbs… Cole Beasley was 5’8” …Dante Hall… Gary Clark should be in the HOF and he is 5’9” and 170…Ricky Nattiel?

I’m sure I am missing a lot of others too.

Dell is better than Metchie and Hyatt.

I wouldn’t assume Metchie will start in the slot over Dell.

Metchie would have gone first round this year.

    Stop it.

College production is a factor, but not a determining factor in who gets more time in the pros. But I believe they will both be used in the rotation. Having more than one quality receiver is always better than just one.

BTW, I spent two years at UH and was in the Cougar Guard with Shasta III and briefly with Shasta IV.

I honestly think Metchie can play outside and inside. It looks like he’s put on size since he got drafted in a good way. I could see Tank Dell and Metchie both starting because they are both probably the best route runners on the team currently. CJ Stroud also asked the team to draft Tank Dell after building a relationship with him at the combine and liking his route running. CJ’s played with nothing but amazing receivers who are great route runners so I’d trust that if he thinks Tank Dell is good that he’s probably right.

    No.

Right now, I believe Dell is a better football player going forward.

    How do you know this?

And remember it doesn't necessarily prove Tank's better than other receivers because Stroud didn't get a chance to "bond" with them.
He just found someone he "liked" personally who was also a highly rated player and asked the FO for him.

Man Nick can't say no to anyone can he?
Lovie, Cal, Hannah, DeMeco, Jackie E., opposing gm's and finally CJ!

Well Tank says it in the post above yours and then Nick Caserio also said he asked Stroud to reach out to players and his input on players on 610 Texans All Access last night. You put the information together and it’s pretty clear that Stroud asked for Tank.

That's pretty cool that BDN took input from CJ. Normally they get shunned. Wilson's falling out in Seattle began after agreeing with Deshaun about having say in the organization.

Nick has shown me he can adapt to any situation, including negotiating with Stroud's agent, Mugatu .

    Thanks.
Don't know how I glossed over that last post/tweet and missed the Texans special. grrr!
Still not comfortable with everyone else making the decisions on who to draft OTHER than the GM!
Especially a rookie QB that hasn't proved anything yet!

Makes me think back to last year's draft and wonder whose decision it actually was to trade up for Metchie.
I really wanted George Pickens there and thought he had wr1 potential which was a need of ours, especially with the Cooks situation.
And unfortunately it's STILL a big need!

For sure the spot will have to be earned and I think both will be on the field, I just think that the route running and ridiculous quickness Tank has will lead to him being more of a go to slot guy than Metchie, but as you said, it's always better to have more quality receivers so let's hope both do well.

Metchie is a better route runner than Tank.

He dominated SEC competition. Just keep that in mind.

ACL's don't really hinder projection anymore.

Based on what Caserio said, his physical numbers are better than they were pre cancer diagnosis.

Plus Metchie can absorb contact better. Every time Tank gets popped it will be a gasp. Hopefully he can put on some weight. I think he will be an awesome return man and an x factor in the red zone.

No one is saying Metchie isn't good, but Tank Dell's route running and change of direction is flat out elite. You don't do Metchie any favors by forcing him into comparisons that are not favorable. He does a lot of good things and showed that he can adapt to several different roles on a team which is what you'd want from a guy like that.
