At least 4 out of those 5 reached the majors with some having a modicum of success. Whitley may get there as a bullpen arm one day… or maybe not.
He's been slightly less terrible lately than he's been in the past. Man that 2020 draft was brutal for the Astros.
Ryan Clifford (4; 6 season) and Miguel Palma (5) have homered for Asheville. Dauri Lorenzo hit his first homer of the season for Fayetteville; Nic Swanson got the start and he allowed two unearned runs, five hits, walked one, and struck out four in five innings.
Any chance Dezenzo is the next Emmanuel Valdez? As in, having a great season, showing promise and climbing up the teams prospect ranks but ends up getting traded at the deadline because teams are asking for him(and Astros don't want to trade their top prospects)?
Valdez was an upside limited guy who was about to be a rule 5 candidate. The Astros traded him because they didn't buy him having impact upside. If the Astros trade Dezenzo it will be because they don't buy him long term, not because they want to avoid trading other guys.
Jairo Solis did not have a good start tonight but he did get up to 97 with his 4 seam. I would not mind him being used in relief later this season to see what he looks like in shorter outings. He is already a 2 pitch pitcher.
Have to give Click his props so far, the 2020 and 2021 draft were bad but with a full draft he balled out.
