The problem with evaluating rookies is that winning just factors so little into the barometer for them, and rightly so. In 2008 you would have said no question that Westbrook was a HUGE steal for where he was selected. Same for Ben Simmons after his rookie year. How are we to know what will happen to these people come playoff time, and how exposed they might actually be when it comes to their ultimate ceilings?

That’s always been my favorite thing about Jabari, and biggest criticism of Banchero. Banchero is guaranteed to put up better numbers than Jabari this year, and in most regular season years going forward. What we don’t know is how their games translate to the playoffs, when 10 players on the court are locked in and giving 100% effort, where every offensive set is defended well by the opposition, where every defensive liability gets exploited. In a situation like that, I am happy we have Jabari and not Banchero.

Right. Robert Horry was a winner because his skill set was conducive to winning in the playoffs, even if he was average at shot creation and handle. I don't know if Jabari will be a tall Klay, but seems likely he will at least be a better shooting Horry. That might be too boring for some fans.

Horry was so clutch. If Jabari ends up like Horry, I'll take it.

Well, no. I didn't suggest that.

    Jabari when I commented: .304 FG% / .308 3PT%
    Jabari when you commented: .357 FG% / .355 3PT%

He plays small. Can't get anything from him at the rim or off the dribble.

Really need him to start hitting 3s at an elite rate

Jabari is a project. Need to build frame while retaining his shot.

Obviously this college shot hasn't translated as well as we would have liked. Defenders are likely too big and fast for him compared to shooting over college midgets.

Okay 3rd pick, would be disappointed at 1st pick. Paolo is obviously blatantly better at this stage.

Is he a project? because I remember reading that he was one of the most nba ready players due to his ability to shoot the ball and defend.

Jabari can barely keep his feet while walking.
Anyone who thought he would be even a passable NBA player was a fool.
