Im more frusturated Caserio didnt have a reliable backup in place for when kenyon failed (which was always likely) . Kendrick green is the back up and he wasnt good enough to play?
Nick needs to be scanning other teams, their practice squads, and any oline sitting around to find someone for next week. Green cannot start if Patterson is out...or work Fisher at guard during practice.
it's PFF so take with a grain of salt, etc. But in this case, it does appear the data is matching the eye test. Also, historical metrics pretty much said he would have to take a quantum leap in order to be "good". so... yeah... try the other Ken(drick) Green at least
Yea, I like that he seemed to get his act together after taking a year off to find himself but this is a joke, if we have no one to step in that's an issue, I find it hard to believe we have no one who can step in and do better...........................he is horrible, why keep him around at this point? I feel bad for the kid, but this mistake needs to be rectified now
Yep or Amobi Okoye. KG isn’t just the worst OG in the league. He’s probably multiple levels below the second worst. I would bet his overall PFF grade would make his season the worst amongst OG since PFF began. We are witnessing history here folks.
The best thing to come out of yesterday's win was to finally see that the coaching staff sees the same thing we do, and are finally willing to do something about it (other than just continuing to give KG chance after chance). It was so frustrating seeing Patterson immediately get hurt when he was put out there. But Kendrick Green is still around, right? Or perhaps we could suit up a practice dummy? Anything is better than Kenyon.
I don't think Kenyon Green deserves to play again. He has had plenty of time to work on technique, etc. He is just awful in pass pro. Literally the worst rated guard in the NFL.
Rewatching the game and Patterson took a knee to the dome when he got to the second level of that Mixon TD. He made that TD possible. Whats the concussion protocol, would he be eligible for next week or is it more of this green bum?
Unfortunately the game is on Thursday. I wouldn't hold out hope for him to be back for the next game.
Looked it up yesterday shortly after he was injured NFL concussion protocol is not based on a specific time frame. Instead, it focuses on a player's recovery and ensuring they are medically cleared to safely return to football activities. The process includes steps requiring the player to be symptom-free before moving on. These steps involve rest and gradual physical activity, followed by cognitive and football-specific exercises, all while monitoring for any signs of symptoms. Only once the player shows no symptoms and is cleared by a team physician and an independent neurologist can they return to full practice and games.
W HIghly doubtful he is ready by Thursday. It isn’t a lock that he will be good, but pretty much a lock he would be better. I thought having the OL together finally would lead to a more consistent product, but I’m afraid we just don’t have the right talent at LG. I hope we trade for an upgrade soon, so that we will have at least the bye week to integrate him a bit. OL cohesion was impossible to produce last year with the injury turnstile. It will probably still hold us back until later in the year if we make a trade.
I get giving the kid time, but this is such a bad look, you gave the kid a year off to basically get in shape and get a better mindset and then he comes in and is literally the worst guard in the league, how did the coaching staff not see this coming and allow it to get to this point? IMO if he hasn't had his come to Jesus moment by now, then he never will and I dont know what the staff is waiting for ........the other Green might not be "good" but hell if he is just average, he will be better than what we have.........I was embarrassed for the kid this past week, the replays they kept showing were just indefensible and if they trot him out again, I will be at a loss for words
Fowler: Houston guard Kenyon Green, a former first-round pick, is on a few teams' trade candidates list. And I had heard that before his Week 8 benching. Maybe the Texans keep him because highly talented linemen are hard to find, but GM Nick Caserio is known for his aggressiveness, so flipping a guard for another guard wouldn't exactly shock, either. https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/st...ws-updates-fantasy-tips-predictions-questions
